I almost said “I wish you could have known me 20 years ago” but you probably would not have liked me 20 years ago. I was definitely a different person. Getting dressed up with shoes and purse to match every outfit, lots of jewelry .. especially long, dangly ear rings . . that was me back then. Nowadays, I look at myself sometimes and have to laugh.
The other morning I was headed out to the garden to work and it’s still a bit chilly for flip flops but I can’t stand getting mud all caked on my boots or tennis shoes so I bought myself these “beach” shoes at Wal-Mart for $4. If they last a month, I’ll figure I got my money’s worth out of them. And, a snake should see them coming and be scared, right?

The beach shoes, along with my fuzzy blue and white socks that I use at night when putting the Vicks Vapo Rub on my feet.
Worse . . I had on my purple and gray striped Disney T-Shirt.

Vince looked at me and said “How long have you had that shirt?” At least 20 years. Last time I went to Disney World, Chad was 5 years old. I don’t like the shirt and I never wear it but . . I keep it! Heck, it looks brand new!
It didn’t matter what I had on. I never left . . stayed home all day working in the yard and in the garden. I think I had on the perfect gardening outfit but I am kinda glad no one saw me but Vince. And, I’m so glad I’m not the same girl I was 20+ years ago!

Had to laugh. I still have all the sports shirts and PTA shirts from the days when all the kiddos were home. No place else to wear them. I think you look just fine! And I hope the shoes do scare the snakes away. EEEK!

Me too-why Vicks? Working in the garden was the last act for my ” active wear”. My husband always makes fun bec. I’m usually in white shorts and tank tops, and am the messiest gardener alive!!! I always have to scrub my knees, but I love getting dirty! Micki
