Before I ever start sewing the borders, I make a handy dandy border border chart. Sometimes I do it as a table on the computer, cometimes I just scribble it out on a notepad.
Borders #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and the sides of #6 are done. That means that the top and bottom for #6, all of #7 and all of #8 are waiting to be done. Those should be done today and the yardage for this quilt can be added to this week’s stash report.
Nicole had better love this quilt! 🙂

Beautiful border and quilt too, I;m positive she will love it. One question, do you do the borders as one unit or do you add each border to the quilt? Thanks for sharing so much with us.

I know you have turned me down before, but if Nicole doesn’t like it, may I send you my address? A girl has to keep trying, ya know and I would give it a wonderful home. Sadly for me, I know Nicole is going to love it.

another note-maker here! i make notes on the pattern sheets as well as having extra sheets of notes to scribble anything that comes into my head while i’m making the quilt. As you said, even if there are directions for the quilt there’s always something else that i need to remember as i’m making it. Those notes have saved me from making many a mistake.
the quilt is looking really great!

I keep a wire bound notebook that I write down figurings on quilts, drafts of blocks, etc. But I know if kept every scrap that I figured the math on it would make a pile that would reach to the ceiling!
That quilt is just so darn gorgeous! You have done yourself proud and Nicole will adore it.
Mary Jo says
Nicole will love that quilt! And like several others, if she doesn’t want it you can send it to me and call me Nicole or anything else you want to call me! The quilt is beautiful!

I vote to knit all weekend! Of course, I am in Missouri right now, where it is cold. Enjoy your weekend.
Jackie says
I’m willing to be adopted and will love the quilt if Nicole doesn’t love it.
Susan says
I don’t know how she couldn’t love it. You’ve put a lot of work into it. I don’t think I ever put 8 borders on a quilt. Maybe 5. You’ve gone way above excellence. =)
Carolyn Thomas says
Looks like you could raffle the quilt off, if Nicole doesn’t like it! It’s beautiful!
