Yesterday I got the top quilted. I had debated about the borders . . whether to add a pieced border or plain borders and decided that I wanted the applique to be the main attraction in this quilt so I went with plain borders. Then I struggled with how to quilt it. Meandering doesn’t excite me but feathers didn’t seem right for the owl quilt, stars didn’t seem good, hearts seemed too “girly” so in the end, I meandered it.
The pattern is Remember Who00 Loves You by Acorn Quilt & Gift Company. The hand applique was done by my friend, Nancy. The batting is Rose by Mountain Mist. The backing is Minkee. The binding . . almost done! 🙂

I find that when I make things for my grandchildren that suddenly I realize I have been smiling as I work. Grandchildren are so special and to be able to make them memories is even more enjoyable!! Have fun with Addie! The quilt is beautiful.

I love the quilt and Addie will too. I’m an owl collector since high school days because I was such a nite-owl. Never seem to want to go to bed when I should. I think your meandering was perfect for this quilt. It doesn’t distract from such a cute design.
