Just in case there’s anyone who hasn’t taken up knitting yet, The Loopy Ewe does an update almost every Monday and adds new yarn, supplies . . those things no knitter can live without. I try to be strong . . really, I do. But they add things I just can’t pass up.
Last week’s update included a new to me yarn, Into the Whirled. This yarn is supposed to be great for pooling, flashing and striping and the colors were so yummy. I just couldn’t say no. Three skeins hopped into my cart and . . took a slow truck from there to here, causing my placed-on-Monday-order to arrive on Saturday! 🙁
Left to right, colors are Bigger on the Inside, Fierce & Flawless and Inara. Bigger on the Inside is the first skein I’m going to use.
This is how it looks on the hank. It gives you a bit of an indication of the way they dye the yarn.
With this first skein, I’ll cast on 60 stitches, and use 2.25 mm needles and see if I can get some good pooling.

Cindy I didn’t knit either.. Until I started following Judy! I am so glad I do know! The Classic Yankee pattern Judy mentions and patience is all you need! Go for it someday! Judy is a great inspiration!

Bigger on the Inside? Are you going to knit a TARDIS? That would be cool. The Snow Angels with an Ood color is pretty, but it’s out of stock. That’s okay, because the Ood have always creeped me out.

Good catch, Karla! After reading your comment, I noticed other Whovian colors.

I pulled out the sock book I bought the last time I thought about knitting socks and ordered a few skeins of Fixation from The Loopy Ewe today… hopefully I’ll have an on the needles post to link up later in the month!

Very pretty yarn! I like knitting but can’t get into it as much as I love quilting. I end up not buying any extra yarn, instead buying just what I need for a specific project. Fabric, on the other hand… 😉 I am very slowly starting a stash. lol

Judy – I’ll be anxious to see how bigger on the inside looks — that’s the one that tempted me to put it in my cart but then I put it back. 🙂

Judy – I got skein of Fierce & Flawless and one of Vampires of Venice .I was going to cast on 60 stitches on 2.75 needles. We will have to compare results.

I’m glad I don’t knit; too much temptation! Those are gorgeous skeins.

I like all of those colors, but I’m most curious about the Fierce & Flawless… I’m sure, though, that they’re ALL going to be just gorgeous. Can’t wait to see how it pools – what a fun experiment!
