A few months ago, I bought the Owl Obsession pattern and ordered the same yarn from Knit Picks that the designer used.
Some of my fondest memories are times spent at my grandparents’ and my grandma seemed to always be crocheting Granny Squares. Black background with brightly colored centers. She made my sister and I each an afghan and probably made quite a few more. I so wish I still had it but but I used the heck out of it and wore it completely out many years ago.
When I saw this Owl Obsession pattern, it immediately reminded me of my grandma’s Granny Squares.
This past week, a friend shared this picture and she wants to starting one of these blankets and it reminded me that I need to start mine. Soon. I hope!
Isn’t it the cutest pattern?

I sort of have an Owl obsession, and yes, that is the cutest crochet pattern! If you start it, I would like to know what you think the skill level is. Adorable!

Oh I have seen this picture before but didn’t know about the pattern. Where did you get it? I want to make one too.

Nevermind you said Knit Picks!

SO cute!
So, how do you do it? Do you make a basic afghan, then attach the separate owls to it? Or, are the owls incorporated into the afghan as it is being made?
