This is what’s on my design wall this morning!
Look how scrappy it is! There’s a lighter yellow for the center chain blocks and a darker yellow for the outer chain blocks. The four blues in the chain blocks are different. OK . . maybe it’s not totally scrappy but it’s pretty darned scrappy for me.
And, look how many blocks I got made! 14 blocks! It helps that they’re super simple. When I shared the EQ drawing of this quilt, I had to laugh when someone commented that the quilt was above her skill level. Oh, no . . I do not make hard quilts. Four more blocks to make and then the rows can be sewn together, the borders added and I can get it quilted. I would love for Margie to get this before Christmas but it’s not going to happen.
If I get as much sewing done today as I got done yesterday, I’ll make some real good progress. The new grill and the chipper are supposed to be delivered today and I missed the call yesterday from the appliance company who wanted to bring the new washer and dryer so today could be spent with delivery drivers instead of sewing. I’m having to miss a Christmas luncheon because of the deliveries so I guess if I weren’t waiting for them, I’d be getting dressed up to go to the luncheon so I wouldn’t be sewing anyway.
Somehow, I will get some sewing done today!

Wow, you really are humming along. Love the colors: my high school colors. Hope your delieveries show up but also that they allow some quality sewing time.

I love it! It’s going to be so pretty and comfy.
I have cooked everyday for three days so no sewing for me. I am getting a bit antsy so I may have to get some machine time today.

Judy, please tell me how you’ve constructed your design wall! Thanks.
Sue in Scottsdale, AZ says
I love this quilt and I love your “controlled” scrappy look. I might just have to figure this out and make this quilt. You are making great progress considering how many other things you are doing at the same time.
Julie in WA says
Wow! Your sewing machine must be smokin’! I especially like the chains of tiny squares in this quilt!
CJ Tinkle says
Dang girl you put us all to shame. Your machine must be on fire!
Peggy says
The quilt is turning out really nice. I think I need to make a blue and yellow quilt, because I really like those two colors together. I know you stretched yourself to go scrappy, but you have enough order in it to make it a blue and yellow quilt rather than a scrap quilt.

Gorgeous!

Judy, that quilt is GORGEOUS. I can’t wait to see it finished!
Sally says
Judy,
Love the quilt!! Blue and yellow are just so cheerful!
Susan says
I love that setting block. I can see you have to be careful positioning the 4-patches, but I love the look it gives the quilt!
