My stash report is a testament to what happens when a quilter (1) starts too many projects and finishes too few, (2) has too many irons in the fire and never enough time for quilting!
In the past 10 days or so, I started Nicole’s Quilt and have today packed it all up to start on another quilt that has a deadline. I’ve probably started no less than a dozen quilts this year that are nowhere near finished. That’s not good and since I don’t count the yardage til the top is finished, once again, I’ve done so much sewing this week and have nothing to show for it.
Used this Week: 0 yards
Used year to Date: 188.75 yards
Added this Week: 0 yards
Added Year to Date: 48.75 yards
Net Used for 2012: 140.00 yards

I have to laugh, Bc I Just started a quilt for Snady Victums which I think takes priority over my other projects due to the Need. I have a quilt top and backing Made for DD3, one partially started for DD that’s getting married in July, and the DGTeen wants a new quilt. We started cutting and sewing on that last W/E. will work on it more as she gets over here….That’s just the Current WIP, I also work w a quilt group at the senior center, finshed one for them last week, and am working on another. I have 2 baby quilt tops started for A neice/nephew… which ever shows it’s stuff, So finishing a quilt is a BIG HURRAH!!!! I know you have done more FINSIHES than I have!!!

Judy, you would not be a true quilter in my book if you didn’t have lots of started quilts! You DO finish more than most people plus your completed pairs of socks would take most people a lifetime to accomplish!! You are still my hero.

Judy – I had to double check to make sure it was YOU that you were discussing – and not ME! ROFLOL!!!! What you are talking about – having so many unfinished projects – well, uh – I live there! From my apartment house to the other house to my Sewing room odds and ends to my quilts and on and on – well, you get the idea! I LIVE there!
Best thing – just jump in where you are and either do a certain amount of time on each project category (drives me nuts – but I know others who thrive on that!) or just a certain amount of time you designate as project time on ONE project – and when that’s done – THAT’S IT for the day! And tomorrow is a brand new day!
Work on whatever project – Even if it is just 15 minutes at a time.
Right now – I found I had so many projects in the process of doing – that I’ve had to set end dates – and go by which one is closest – and that’s the one I work my bunions off doing. Even if I decide I don’t like it. Especially if I decide I don’t like it (and those are my 15 minute days!).
Re quilting – those are also the projects so likely to become my Leaders/Enders projects – and they DO get done – eventually – either that or they jump up and just take over! Example is my Apple Cider quilt (Evelyn Sloppy’s Sweet and Sassy Quilt) – I loved it – but HATED all those bits and pieces and had a LOT of problems with it – starting with not cutting to size and on and on! But as LE project – it was painless and a no brainer – and suddenly – it was DONE! And I LOVE IT! (Will I do it again? Not on a bet – but I LOVE the project as a LE project!)

At least you’ve been sewing. At some point you’ll get a whole bunch done at once.

I would love to join you in this but I can’t quite figure how you judge the fabric you use. I am putting a binding on a quilt I finished this year. It was a scrap quilt so I used lots of fabric from my stash but it started with a collection of red and greens that I bought.
The binding is from stash but cut on the bias, so hard to judge. I do a narrow quarter inch binding so I don’t think I use 3/4 of a yard for all the binding. Maybe half a yard?
So I will be content that I used up some stash
