Not only am I getting tops quilted but I’m using lots of fabric for backing. Here’s the one I quilted yesterday.
Today I may load another top on the longarm but my focus for the next couple of days, I plan to work on binding. Here’s the stack of quilts that already have the binding made . . just need to sew it on and get it finished.
Seven quilts. There are a few QOVs, a quilt for Vince, the Holly Jolly Christmas quilt, the quilt for my friend . . I’m going to bind them in the order in which they sit in the stack. There are also 3 or 4 quilts that need to have the binding made and attached. Sure would be nice to get all these done this week but I’ll be happy to get 3 or 4 of them done and then I can get 3 or 4 more done next week and 3 or 4 done the next week and soon, I’ll have a whole bunch of finished quilts!

Binding is my least favorite part of quilting. By the time I get there I am so done with the project and ready to move on to the next one. Plus I don’t like handwork and haven’t attempted doing it by machine yet. You will be a super hero in my book when you get all those bound.

Ahhhh, my favorite part! I could sit and bind for days on end. You’re going to have a dynamite stash report this week! Keep going!!!!!!!

Definitely agree with Vicky……love to do the binding!!!! Congrats on the beautiful finishes!

Your’re going to have an awesome stash report! I love binding – we’re expecting a cold front this weekend and I’ve got two quilts to bind.

I agree, sitting under a quilt doing the binding while it is cool weather is the best feeling. I always put my binding on the quilts while I have them on the longarm. It is easier for me. If you haven’t tried that, you may want to try at least one time.

I’m getting prepped for a week away in November without my machine – and have aspirations of getting at least 4 quilts to this stage so I can bring them to work on during the visit. Novice knitter – so bringing that, too but I need something like binding with a lower frustration level. It IS a vacation after all! 🙂

I wish I lived closer to you. I’d swap doing your binding if you’d do my quilting.

You are getting a lot done! I am impressed. Did you ever get all the tops quilted that you were going to donate to fire victims? I mailed a top to you but don’t know if you got it. IT was back last year sometime when you were asking for them. I never saw it on your blog so I figured with your move, your garden and all you had to do that I just missed it.

Judy, love your blog and all the quilts you do.. I just wanted to let people know that Costco has a Singer Machine that looks like a larger featherweight machine. It is $199 plus free shipping for anyone that is looking for a new machine. I know 4 people that have purchased one and it does have that beautiful stitches like a featherweight. Thanks again for taking all the time to share you love of quilting and life.
