It just isn’t right for parents and grandparents to live so far from their kids and grandkids. Let this be known as my formal complaint about the whole situation. I don’t want to be 10 hours from them. I will settle for 5 hours between us . . no more! Good luck with that, Mrs. Judy!
This will have to keep me going til I can see them again.
Adalina is such a happy baby. Her parents have fun together and fun with her. This is the kind of posing that was going on while I was trying to get a picture.
Crazy family!!

Fun Family 🙂 I totally agree with the 5 hr rule…mine are 24 hrs away. All the way from the Northern most point in Wa to Eastvale (Corona), CA…which is not all the way to the southern tip…but almost! Especially when I go to Cozy Quilt Shop and Rosy’s which are waaaaaay farther south, but I must go there 🙂 Oh and M&L fabrics too.
I sure wish we were closer. #1 Grandson won an award yesterday for a paper he wrote, on Egypt….I had to call on the phone to congratulate him….I wish I could have wrapped my arms around him, directly, and not with my voice…..Oh well we do what we can…..and visit as often as possible!!!

Oh indeed, fun family! They remind me so much of my son and his family! My son is forever posing his little boy … from day one he did it. Oh grands certainly are! 🙂

I grew up without being around my Grandparents — They lived in Connecticut and Maine while we lived in southern part of Texas. We didn’t go up there often and likewise, they didn’t come a visiting much. In fact, Mom’s folks never visited. I missed knowing them. Hopefully, as the child grows older, you’ll get frequent visits from her and you’ll visit them frequently.

I’ve heard within and hour’s drive. Some of mine are more than a days’ drive away and that is WAY TOO FAR! I can’t wait until Christmas-at least 5 of my 6 will be coming. Happy Grandma time. The second picture could be their Christmas card if they were dressed in red and green.

It’s so hard. My second daughter is ten hours away and I feel I will never know her children, ages 6 and 2 well and it breaks my heart. You miss so much seeing them maybe twice a year. However, my older daughter with a 9 and a 12 year old is two hours away, and we see them often and I love every minute. They “allowed” and encouraged me to stay for the the first one’s first two weeks and I was in heaven, but felt it was time for them to bond as a family. With hockey games galore, dance recitals (their dance troupe was invited to the Olympics this summer to perform), we have many excuses to head down their way. However, we don’t go in the winter, too snowy. So we are moving in two weeks to be within five minutes of them and take in even more of the good times. Can’t wait, but will miss my friends of many, many years.

We have our oldest son in Honolulu, a 5 hour flight away. We have gone up to 2 years without seeing him, and other times we have seen him twice in a year. He has flown back for all family weddings, funerals, one Christmas and one summer at Tahoe with us. We have also been to Hawaii 3 times to visit with him. Our youngest son, wife and grands live 2 hours away and we do get to see them many times during the year. It has been so hot here in the desert, not fun for kids to visit. They come down frequently during the winter and spring. It is getting harder with all the activities the kids are involved with. We go to Encinitas as often as possible. We are also in the planning stages of a trip to Hawaii with them next summer.
We do miss them!

Great picture. Babies just grow up too fast. Christmas will be so much fun for the whole family. You get to see the lights and wonders throgh her eyes.

A great looking family! My grandchildren are about 15 minutes away, and some days that seems too far. Of course since they are all growing up so fast and staying so busy, they could live with me and I would hardly get to see them!

All 3 of them look happy. That in itself is a blessing!
Will they be closer when they move? When does the move take place? Did Chad like the house you and Nicole saw? I know too many questions.

they look gorgeous together Judy – I think they are ideally suited. Makes me wistful

Mine are 19 hours away but I’m thankful for the means to travel to see them frequently AND for my iPad and face time. We FaceTimed twice with Chris and Becky before they’d even left the hospital with the baby…. And I got to talk to CAleb too that same day when the kids were at My Mom’s for Chris and Adam’s grandfather’s funeral. I don’t mind being way so much because we talk via FaceTime frequently.

No wonder that baby is beautiful. She has good-looking parents. You are truly blessed, Judy.
