Nicole and I each have this cookie book.
It’s Decorating Cookies by Bridget Edwards and I think it’s an excellent book. Decorated sugar cookies are one of my favorite things to eat and make and I’ve never been very good at decorating . . I just love eating the icing. There are so many tips and suggestions in this book. With this book, I think I can become an excellent cookie decorator. If not, I’ll still be an excellent cookie eater! 🙂
So, Nicole and I went shopping for cookie decorating supplies. (Look at Chad back there fixing dinner while Nicole and I play with our loot!)
Here’s our cooking decorating loot! The big pile on the right is Nicole’s stuff. She got a cooling rack, all kinds of cookie cutters, some sprinkles and shimmering sugar. We both got disposable icing bags, tips, meringue powder, coloring gel . . all kinds of good things.
We’re hoping to find some time today to make cookies and if we do . . you’ll be the first to see them! 🙂

This is a sincere thank you for your blog and all the great writing that you give to us: for free and freely given from the kindness of your heart. It surely must not be easy to take all those photos and do all the writing to share your life and your talents with those of us that you do not know and will never know. I sometimes think about blogging, but I know that there are those few out there who like to post hurtful comments and try to cause hurt to a blogger that they may be jealous of. At my age, I just don’t want to deal with those who tear down instead of build up. To you, I say a sincere thanks for your blog,, it is highly informative and lots of fun to read. Even my husband reads it! Now, I can’t wait to learn all about making cookies!!!!

That looks like great fun. Have you made cake pops? That’s my current challenge. I really like them. Just a little bit of sweet cakye goodness on a stick. Starbucks has great ones.

My mom makes cake pops but I don’t really like cake. They are so cute! We were shopping yesterday and there are so many things geared towards making cake pops. I’m a huge cookie fan though! 🙂

Looks like a great start! I would definitely add some cookie scoops in different sizes if you don’t already have them and a cookie gun. I’ve used my cookie gun for lots of things like filling up mini cupcake tins and the scoopers are great when doing large batches to freeze. Can’t wait to see what you make :).

I like eating them more than making them. But nothing compares to a home made cookie!
