You haven’t seen these furry little critters in a while.
Thelma is a rooster, but that wasn’t what was supposed to happen. We just never changed his name. It doesn’t really matter. He doesn’t know his name. He doesn’t know much. He’s a bit slow, in fact. He spends his day chasing Louise and Tiffany around the run. They’re much faster than Thelma and in order for Thelma to have . . fun . . that kind of fun that roosters have that involve hens . . he has to catch one first and bless his heart . . he so rarely catches a hen.
They all just bounce around and it looks like someone has glued big, fluffy cottonballs all over them. It doesn’t take much to entertain us but we love watching the chickens.

It must be those feathers drooping down over his eyes or the ones over his toes that slow him down. He probably has trouble seeing his target hen and then trips when he runs after them. LOL

when raising chickens to eat one year–the hatchery gave us free 25 leghorn roosters along with the rest of the order. Well, those roosters spent the whole time chasing the hens (and each other). We laughed and called them “runners” and the other chickens “broilers”. Runners stayed lean, mean, and muscled. Soup chickens!

And we enjoy watching you enjoy watching them–I howl with each new event so thank you. Really though you should change that poor stupid rooster’s name. Hr already has issues.
Terri says
Maybe a boy’s name would give Thelma a better chance! Some self esteem.

There’s always “Thelmo” like Elmo with a th.

Does your Thelma crow much? I think one of my silkies is a rooster – but no crowing yet…

You have Design Wall Monday and the Stash Report: I suggest adding a regular Chicken and Rooster Report. They need a title and dedicated day. They entertain your readers. Regular Feature please!
