Vince loves to dig but once you dig, then you have to fill in the holes . . or that’s how it’s supposed to work. We go months without rain and as soon as he got the yard dug up, it’s supposed to rain tomorrow. Believe me . . we are NOT complaining about rain, even if it means all the trenches have to be trenched again.
I went out to take his picture but I was facing the south end of my husband facing north and the minute he takes those shorts off, they’re going in the trash. Thank me for not taking a picture from that angle! Don’t look Ethel!
I had big plans for quilting the Texas quilt today but Vince called and told me it was going to rain tomorrow so he was taking off half a day and we needed to go to Home Depot and Wal-Mart. We? Couldn’t think of a single thing I needed from either place but then he mentioned eating lunch at Section Hand, which is one of my favorite places in town. So . . I did get to go to Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
He has managed to get one faucet in but still has a lot of work to do before dark if he’s going to finish tonight. Look how pretty our sky is. There’s hardly ever a time that we don’t have a gorgeous sky!
If I was a betting kind of girl, I’d bet that before this night is over, I have a shovel in my hand. I’m thinking if he gets the pipe in, he’ll enlist my help to cover the trench or . . if I’m lucky, he’ll get he tractor out and do it but it may be kinda tight there with the fence on one side and the fruit trees on the other side.
Looks like a whole lot of work to me!

if you have a heavy duty rake, turning it upside down and pushing the dirt in the hole might be easier than shoveling 🙂 Doesn’t sound like fun to me! But, I bet it will be nice to have the water faucet close so you can water easy!

Vince does such a good job, and truthfully, I think he’s such a good sport in posing in those provocative photos you post for all of us to see!
Tell him I said, “WOO HOO!!!”

Yeh, who’s stripping now?! Uh, huh! Now I’ll be singing that song for the rest of the day. Canceled our cow works tomorrow due to rain – sure hope that didn’t scare it away. Bring on a gully washer. At least the temps have dropped enough that Vince’s digging will be a bit more enjoyable…well if digging can be enjoyable.

I’m afraid Vince would have to dig his trenches a bit deeper here in NE so they wouldn’t freeze up.
We got some rain today too. Not near enough, but some.

Too late…she’d already been mooned! {Grin} Thanks for the chuckle!

LOL – Judy, you crack me up. Ooo. Maybe I shouldn’t use that word! ;P Anyway, with Vince around you certainly don’t need a ditch witch. Of course, you have loose sandy soil and we have Oregon clay. Digging is rough in this region. It will be certainly handy to have faucets in other locations on your property!

Those yard hydrants are what we are in the middle of installing in our backyard too… however, we have to bury them 32″ below grade to stay below the frost line. That’s a big trench! Anyway, we are running one out to the barn for the “girls” and the bunnies. I am SO looking forward to not having to carry 4 gallons of water up the hill each morning for the animals!

It has been raining slow and steady ALL DAY LONG in NM … I’m guessing that’s what’s headed your way. I hope you get those holes filled.
