No . . not my stash but I just received an email from a friend who was at our retreat in February and they’ve opened up a “quilter’s resale shop” called Sew Affordable Fabric. It looks like a great idea so I thought I would pass the info along. I’m not sure how they would work it if you need to mail your fabrics but if you have some you’re thinking of getting rid of, you might contact them.

what an interesting idea.

Hmmm…that might be worth a road trip! Wonder if I need a U-haul. 🙂

Hah! And you know most of us are looking at this, wondering when they will put other people’s stashes on sale so we can buy more!! Oh dear. How sick is that? If you saw my stash, you’d think I was totally nuts.

How neat. Too bad I’m so far away. But speaking of the February retreat – is there another coming up?

What a great idea! Too bad it’s so remote.

….posted too soon! Maybe it is a good thing it’s remote, or I’d be tempted to go shopping!

Thanks for the mention, that was a surprise. We are brand new and didn’t realize the word was OUT! Yes, we do buy people’s stash, right now only 100% cotton quilting fabric and notions. We have lots of books, all sorts of rulers, threads, scissors etc. We have done a lot of purchases in the past 2 months since the concept got us on this road. ALL of our fabrics in the store sell for $4.50 per yard and of course because they are from stashes we have different amounts. There are two other regular quilt shops in our area so it’s well worth the trip!

I went to one of these in Kansas City/Overland Park, KS hat had been featured in the Premier issue of Generation Q magazine.
It is called Fabric Recycles. http://fabricrecycles.com/
There were fabrics, and threads, and quilt tops, and blocks, and patterns … and SEWING MACHINES!
I will be sure to visit it again when I see my sister in Kansas City. 🙂
