I’m not sure why Vince is doing this but I’m never sure about a whole lot of things Vince does . . know what I’m saying? If you have a husband, I’m sure you feel the same way.
We bought 45 acres for several reasons but one was so we could have a big garden. Now, he’s decided he wants to do some hydroponics . . tomatoes, lettuce, potatoes . . OK, maybe not potatoes! We talked about hydroponics. I know he’s been looking at it on the internet. All our Amazon orders come through my email and I just got this order confirmation.
If it means we have fresh tomatoes year round, I’ll be very happy. If it means something else we have to store and pack and move and unpack and store . . I will not be so happy.
Stay tuned . . this should be interesting!

Daughter #2 and DH have a hydroponic greenhouse and grow all kinds of lettuce and some herbs. They have wholesale accounts with area grocery stores and sell all they can grow. They shut down over the winter, though, there just isn’t enough sun in northern Illinois. That wouldn’t be a problem in Texas, would it?

My hubby is into hydroponics and aquaponics. We have 3 huge setups that he grew broccoli, cabbage, and collards in last winter. There IS a huge learning curve. We visited a few wholesale opperations that sell to groceries to see how to be more successful. We got our systems in Ft.Worth. I will say, I did notice a rise in qour electric bill with that mega lighting system. The plants need a lot of light in the winter. I’ll be anxious to see how Vince likes it.

check with William, he did some research and started an aquaponics project last year in FFA.

I would like to have the space (okay, let me rephrase that).. if we had the space, I would like to get into hydroponic gardening, too. Of course here in Colorado, most people into that are growing weed for medical distribution!
