Who would think my shower would need organizing? It does did. Vince and I have never shared a bathroom. He says it’s because I have too much “girl” stuff and I say it’s because . . well, I’m not going to say what I say but if there’s a man in your house . . I’ll bet you can guess why we don’t share bathrooms.
In MO, the upstairs had two master bedrooms with big, nice walk-in showers. There were all kinds of built in shelves for putting all my “girl” stuff. I was so spoiled. Here . . since we live in what I call the “peanut” house because it’s not much bigger than a good sized peanut, both bathrooms have the plain tub/shower combo. In my bathroom, I wanted a shower head I could take off and hold. That was the least I could get after having the nice shower in MO with multiple shower heads. So, Vince moaned and complained about how much the one I wanted cost (I think it was less than $100 and maybe less than $50 — not expensive at all), I realized I couldn’t put any kind of shower caddy in there. Stuff was lined around the wall and the edge of the tub. Last week while in Home Depot, I saw this and I knew it would work!
The big one not only has adhesive strips but it had some kind of . . dang it . . I can’t remember what you call it. Not glue but it’s the same difference. The bottles on the organizer have shampoo and conditioner in them and the single dispenser has body wash. I’m still using the Dove Visible Care Body Wash that I blogged about here. Love that stuff!
The little green bath sponge had been just sitting on the edge of the tub and most of the time fell in and that’s where I found a scorpion one night. Not that it’s guaranteed not to get a scorpion in it hanging there but probably a better chance that it won’t.
The towel rack hanging above the shower enclosure . . we didn’t put that there! It doesn’t work so well for a short girl.
I’m loving my new organized shower area . . though I still one day hope to have a nicer, bigger, walk in shower.

We are moving in eight weeks and we too. (we two) will be sharing a bathroom. For all the reasons you know, I am dreading it. Any and all hints to survive this traumatic event are appreciated. Many thanks for your sympathies in advance.

We have a small walk in shower in our master bedroom. Not tiny, but still small. Despite being a new house, the shower developed a leak after a few years and had to be redone.
I had the hardest time convincing the tile man that I wanted 2 separate soap dishes. You would have thought I ask for the moon! I also requested a marble shelf above the knob( water regulator) for shampoo bottles, razor, body wash, etc. and a small towel bar on opposite side for washcloths. It takes a woman to think of what is really needed!

Only one bathroom in this house…one teeny, tiny bathroom. It’s a one hiney bathroom. Or a teeny, tiny, hiney bathroom (which mine is NOT!) LOL. I can’t believe I am going to hit the ‘post’ button on this one.

I’m beginning to consider one of those walk-in bath/shower combos. I know they’re very expensive, but as I age, I can see it might be a wonderful thing to have.

I have a similar contraption in my RV shower. I love the shampoo/ conditioner dispensers as I have been known to grab the wrong bottle while “sleep” showering !

I’ve always wondered WHY the drain is on the same side as the water faucet. That works great for a bath, or shower but to clean it not so good. just wondering… I know it’s the pipes in the wall that is the reason… it’s been explained to me….

That looks like a nice organizer Judy. I have a little shelf in my bathroom installed above the sink. The shelf is a nice curved one and on either end of it are the same exact dispensor bottles you have on yours. Mine used to be for liquid hand soap and the other for mouthwash. I loved them. Be careful when removing the bottles to clean the area really well because mine broke on one side and now leans off to one side. Plus something happened and putting mouthwash in it doesn’t work well any longer. It just runs out drop by drop and by morning after refilling it the countertop is full of mouthwash and the bottle is empty. Sadly we can’t use either bottle any longer but I NEED that little shelf so they sit there empty and one tilted off to the side. Hopefully they’ve improved the area which they connect to the rest of the unit since we bought ours and you won’t have any problems with yours.
Anyway, the real reason I wanted to comment is about that towel bar. I had seen a great idea on another blog recently where they had used shower curtain rings, the kind that aren’t fully closed to hold the shower curtain hook but more of a circle that is only about 3/4 of that entire circle or a little more. They put the shower curtain rings on the bar and because they were not a full circle which closed (you could use those too I’d assume) they hung thing from those such as your shower pouf or shower brush etc. I thought it was a great idea and gave even more places to store those things which have a rope attached to hang the item in the shower. That idea may work really well for your towel bar.

Hehe, yeah, living with 2 males, very familiar with what comes along with that and I don’t share a bathroom with hubs but do use the same tub/shower as my son. We use similar wall dispensers too and love them. I dislike bottles and such all over in my shower. For our washcloths I use the suction razor holders and the cloths drape from them.
