With the Quiltathon starting Thursday, I’m making preparations and getting as much done as I can get done so I can sew, sew, sew on those four days.
I’ve gotten in the terrible habit of ironing one shirt each night for Vince to wear to work the next day. The ironing board is in the sewing room, the washer/dryer out here isn’t hooked up so all the washing is done in the house. I forget to bring the shirts over here and right before bed, I’m running over here to iron a shirt. I brought a whole pile of them over here this morning and ironed shirts for all the way through next Tuesday. No ironing during Quiltathon.
My menus are planned and they’re all easy stuff!
Thursday
Stuffed Peppers (from the freezer)
Corn on the Cob (cooked in the solar oven)
Salad
Caraway Crisps
Friday
Ribs (on the smoker)
Cowboy Beans
Mustard Greens (canned from my dad’s garden last year)
Texas Toast
Saturday
Steak (Grill)
Baked Potatoes (cooked in the solar oven)
Green Beans (canned from my garden)
Crusty Bread
Sunday
Spaghetti & Meatballs (sauce I canned and meatballs in the freezer)
Salad
Garlic Bread
Are you getting things done ahead of time so you can spend extra hours sewing?
Roberta says
Well ready to cut fabrics so that part is done.
As for food, hubby, you’re cooking for the next few days. He doesn’t mind as long as there isn’t anything else going on. I’ll eat most anything he cooks too. 😉 Lazy me!!!!!
Hugs!!!!

I’m only going to be able to join the Quilt A Thon on Sunday, but one day is better than none.

I sure hope I can participate. I love stuffed peppers. Do the peppers get soggy when they have been frozen? I have a great recipe but I have never froze them.

definitely ready. got my fabrics all laid out ready to cut into, (much fabric petting going on here!) and i’ve got a UFO ready to finish tomorrow.
i want to get that UFO into a top if possible before i start the new project.. Everyone’s been forewarned that i’ve got 4 days of quilting comming, so i’m hoping for minimal interruptions and lots of sewing time. Just got the AC fixed, so i should be cool as a cucumber while sewing up a storm.

I am not as prepared as YOU – but I do have lots of things READY in the freezer – I just haven’t planned what is happening on each day yet!
It will be lots of fun!

I wish I was able to do this along with you! David comes home on Sunday on R&R and the kids and I leave for Dallas on Saturday to go pick him up…then it’s on to Leesville for a few days. We are in the new house…spending all my time up until Saturday unpacking…should have everything in it’s place when we pull out of here Saturday. I will, someday, be able to join and complete a project with you!

My DD&DSIL are moving into their new house tomorrow soooo I get to keep my 19 monthe DGS, which is great. Saturday I have to work. I will be getting in as much time as I can.
My Mom get her biopsy results yesterday. She has cysts in bothe breasts, not cancer. We are so thankful and blessed. Thank you Judy and Erin for your prayers.
I have been a regular reader here for a while but this is my first quilathon. Hope everybody gets a lot done.

Hi! I’m new to this site and I am actually off work during the quilt along! Yea! But I can’t find the fabric requirements. Is there a pattern that we see in advance? Help! Excited to join in!
