Yesterday I finished this little nine patch top except for the borders.
A friend who does fantastic hand applique has offered to do some applique on it . . an owl, of course, so I sent it off to her today. I was waiting to be sure the baby was going to be a girl, as she was first told. Then she told me that she’d rather it be gender neutral so that any future babies can use it too. She wanted greens, tans, golds . . so I made it and it’s so cute and it’s going to be even cuter with the applique added.
When I get it back, I’ll add borders and quilt it and get it delivered . . though I know it will be long after the baby is born!

Love it! Will be so charming with appliques. Not sure I agree with the plan to take it away from baby girl and give to future siblings! What if baby girl becomes attached? 😉

Really??? Like there won’t be more Quilts, for more Kids??? What a silly girl LOL. I say go with Pink and you can worry about the next grandtreasure when they are ready to you!!!! The way you turn out Quilts….this baby, and all the others should have at least 10 or twelve by the time they are 2 🙂 While I am thinking about it….You did such a great job on the 2 applique blocks for the Christmas Town Sampler….I am surprised you didn’t give that OWL a shot ????? Judy, Judy…it’s your quilt, and there are no police 🙂
