Hi I am Sara the designer behind Swoon Media. Judy thought that it would be nice if I stopped by and filled everyone in on the new design. Judy wanted a clean simple design and I think that we accomplished that with a warm color palette, a subtle background, and a simple blog button. With the new design we decided to move the social icons from the sidebar to the header area. In the post area we added some great new items. You will notice that after all the posts you are now able to share them with a simple click of the mouse. The previous print button has been combined with the new icons and it is now the last icon with the share icons. We also added a related post plugin underneath the posts to help readers explore all the fantastic previous posts. I am so excited at how it turned out – after all the blog drama Judy and all her loyal readers deserved a beautiful blog that runs really well.
Please feel free to stop by Swoon Media to see how I can help with your next blog or web design.

It’s FAB.U.LOUS!! Great job Sara!
Krista says
It looks great, Judy and Sara! I’m not sure about the comment link at the top of the post rather than the bottom (means a little more scrolling for me to go back and find the link to comment), but I love everything else! Colours are lovely and the font is easy to read.
You might want to check the ravelry link at the top of the page – it links to ravelry/login, rather than Judy’s page on Ravelry.

Pretty but does not look right in mobile on all of my android devces, iPod or Kindle Fire.
Judy Laquidara says
Sara, I LOVE it! It’s exactly what I had in mind when I said “I don’t care what you do . . please just fix it!” Thank you so much Sara!
Linda in NE says
Very nice blog design Judy and Sara. Simple, elegant and very readable by these old eyes. The longer I use the Internet the more I appreciate web pages that aren’t fussy.
Deb says

Sheryl says
Judy, I absolutely love it! The colors are so easy on my eyes and are such a nice combination. It looks great. The only thing I can think of is if there are going to be links to other blogs, etc.
Sara….you did an incredible job!!!!!

It looks fabulous. I’m glad you found Sara to help you get the look you wanted.
Pam says
I love the new ‘look’! Crisp and clean looking; easy to read! Great overall presentation!! I, too, would like the comments link at the bottom of each post; easier to locate without having to scroll back up to the top.
Judy Laquidara says
When you click on Patchwork Times, all the posts are there. If you click on the post that you want to read, when you’re done reading that post, the comment section is right at the bottom. You don’t have to scroll back up to the top if you’ve clicked on the individual post already. And, you also don’t have to click on “comments” because they automatically open at the bottom of the individual post. From there, you can hit “Post Comment” and then “next post” or “previous post” links are there too so you don’t have to go back to the main page unless you just want to.
Krista says
But some of us read your posts right from the home page. No need to click unless we want to comment (much easier, when you fall behind and have 4 posts to read to catch up 🙂 )
When I decide I’d like to comment on the third post I just read, I have to scroll back, make sure I didn’t scroll back too far and get the wrong post, click the comment button, and it opens to read and post comments.
Anyway, not a big deal. I love the new format overall.
debra says
a grand improvement.
Cindy Kuipers says
Love the new look! Easy to read, nice colors!
Pat C in Washington says
Nice! Neat and clean! Easy to navigate too.
becky r says
Great job! The new look is super. Easy and quick to navigate around. Good response times. Even links to the facebook, etc social media links right there on the top of the page. It’s wonderful and not even very late in the day for the reveal!
Rosie Davis says
It is fabuloso!!! So easy to see other stuff and I love the suttle colors. Great job Sarah and you also Judy!

Doreen says
I, too, love the new format….easy on the old eyes!! Great job/choice, Judy and Sara! Would definitely recommend “Swoon”! Hugs, D
Sandy says
I saw the flags at the top right side of your new header, but I’m not good at understanding symbols without words. I assume the first is Facebook, but have no idea about the others. Also, what happens if I click on them? I do like the clean new look of the blog!
Nancy says
hmmmmm not everything is showing up on my screen… probably my computer. But what I can see looks great!
WiAmy says
It looks wonderful! Great job.
Connie Stack says
I am not seeing the Patchworktimes Logo or anything beyond blog her on the sides. Running Win7, whatever the top one is called.
Susan Torrens says
I read your blog through blogger, and I do not see your header – the tags for facebook etc., are there. The info below each button shows up as a block of code. Is there supposed to be anything on the left side of the blog? If so, that is missing also.
Amy @ Heriyage Homemaker says
Love it! Crisp and clean. Do wish the comments link was at the bottom of the posts, though.
Melinda says
Ooo…. Pretty! Looks good. (FYI, I’m not seeing the header on Google Chrome. It may be me, but in case it’s not.)
Hugs,
Melinda 😀
Joan in NE says
Looks good-real clean and easy to read. Love it. May take me a bit to figure out how to get around here, but looks easy and love the click-able areas. Way to go.
Hermione Agee says
Looks great. It would be easier for some if “Previous” and “Next” were above the comments, right after the post as well as underneath. You get lots of comments – lots to scroll through if we don’t want to read them all. Just my two cents 🙂
Angie says
The new look is very nice Judy. Sharp looking. I don’t know why, but I can’t see the header on my iPad. But I can see it on my iMac desktop.
Lizzy Hentze says
Looks fabulous Sara, and if you hadn’t included a screen shot I would never have known that the PT banner is not appearing on my iPad. I have reloaded my page several times and it just doesn’t arrive. Apart from that, I love the clean, uncluttered look you’ve come up with.
Lizzy Hentze says
Home from work and yippee, the banner loads now so I can get the full experience. Super service Sara!
liz says
Looks great – I also have issues with seeing your blog header on my laptop (internet explorer) and my tablet (android). I do see the f, t, p, r, rss buttons on top. I realize that it could be computer specific, just thought I would let you know.
Now that I read more blogs on the tablet, I like the scrolling part of it. Could you increase the number of posts “per page” before we have to hit the previous post button and then wait for the new page to load? I think you have it set at 5 posts, but there are some days that you write far more than five! No big deal, just thought I would mention it.
liz says
YEA – I just checked back in and your logo is on the top of the blog….
Everything is looking great – a fine job by Sara. And Judy, start enjoying your sewing room now that you have great A/C and the garden is winding down for a few months.
liz says
Another small point -the “post comment” listed below could be in the red color to highlight a bit more. Obviously I found it, but it’s not as obvious as the notify boxes below it.
Hmm, weird, it is in black, but it does change to the red color when the words are approched from the left or right, but not when approached from top or bottom. Is that happening to anyone else or is my computer the one acting up?
Pam says
Superb.
Barb in MI says
Great clean look!
Somehow I can only access it with Google chrome and not with Internet Explorer. That has been going on for some time – only with your blog address. Not sure what I am doing wrong, cleaned my cache and all.
Anyways: congrats on your new blog design!
Gari says
Judy, I guess I don’t really care how it looks as long as you keep posting. I didn’t have all the problems other did. I am getting this fine in Internet Explorer and through Safari on my iPhone. And, Sara, if Judy is happy, I am happy.
JudyL says
Oh, you’re so sweet! I’m happy so you must be happy too!
Frieda Z says
It looks great, Judy. I hope you are happy with it. Can’t wait to hear all abou t your life. My have been so boring laying in bed trying to overcome the back issues, that your blog is the brightest spot in my day!!!!!!!!!
pdudgeon says
hehe, the little smilie at the very bottom left is cute!
JudyL says
I think I’m missing the little smilie. Can’t find it anywhere!
Diana in TX says
Been a busy day and I now have the house to myself to check out your new design, sew etc. Looks terriffic, you and Sara did a great job. I can see why Sara is in demand, glad she could help you get this up and running, Judy.
Ranch Wife says
Applause! Well done! I feel like I should bring over a dish of something and a bottle of wine to celebrate! Love the colors and navigation flags at the top. Very user friendly! The two of you did a beautiful job. I noticed the little smilie face too. At first I thought if was just something on my screen. It’s a the very bottom.
barbara says
lovely layout. great simplicity. no nonsense. i do wish the font was a tiny bit darker for these tired eyes, although it’s a great font. i can’t wait to see what it will look like when you have some photos up as well. maybe vince in his green t-shirt, socks and crocs.
Faye says
Love, love, love, the new blog!
