Do you remember there’s a QOV Challenge going on in 2012 and there’s a nice prize? I had planned to send 12 QOVs to Alycia and planned to send 3 each quarter. The end of March came and went and I didn’t send any. The end of June has come and gone and I didn’t send any so I’m committed to getting 6 to Alycia by the end of July and then 6 more by the middle of November before the Christmas shipping rush. I have several quilts that need binding and here are three of them.
If you took the challenge, how are you doing? If you didn’t take the challenge and want to do it, there’s still time .. if you sew real fast!

I took the challenge and have sent 13 QOV to Alycia. I am working on #14 now, but it is too hot to sew. When I can open up the house again, I’ll start sewing more QOV. I hope to make at least 20 on 1012.

Hmmm, either my finger hit the wrong key or I am a time traveler: I meant 2012. ;oD

I’ve started my flickr group, add a border block, on doing QOV, with about 6 zooming around the country. Then I am collecting red, blue and patriotic fabs to make signature quilts. I hope to take the signature quilts to Dragoncon in Atlanta over Labor Day and get the people in costume to sign, take a pic and then make a scrapbook with the quilt!

I gave five quilts to my local QOV contact a few months ago, and I sent two quilts to Afghanistan in June. Several more in the pile when I can afford batting and backing! Thanks for spreading the word about Quilts of Valor so we can comfort and honor our great military members.

I have 4 ready to go WITH their box. Just need to get it sealed up, addressed and take it to the PO. Maybe tomorrow. This God awful heat & humidity have just sucked the “go” right out of me. And the steady drone of the AC just about puts me to sleep. 🙂

I sent 1 to her already and I have 2 more I am working on.

I didn’t take the challenge but I’m working on getting some bound to send to Alycia too.

I have quilted 3 QOV quilts that have been pieced by friends, and have several in progress that I am making. I am a very active member of our local chapter which is the Eastern Missouri Chapter of Quilts of Valor. We meed twice a month and hand quilt, put on bindings and mark many that we receive each month. We have completed and shipped 875 quilts in the 6+ years that we have been together. There are over 100 ladies devoted to this group and we have a lot of fun for a very good cause. Thanks for bringing attention to the QOV work.
