If you didn’t get the database error messages this morning, then I don’t know what to say . . and you know I’m never at a loss for words. The minute I see “database error”, I break out in a sweat and want to cry. I couldn’t get on at all this morning for a while. Sara has me down for the blog re-do starting the week of July 9. Last week she had tweaked a few things but knew it wasn’t fixed and hoped it would work til the new blog was done. It didn’t so I again went begging to her and she set me up with a temporary fix. Not everything is where it needs to be but it’s working and it should load more quickly. And, if I see that darned database error message again, I may just give up. That’s how frustrated I am with that!
She and I have discussed some of the things I like, some of the things you all expect and I can’t wait to see my new blog. For now, I can’t tell you how happy I am with her . . the fact that she cares and that she made time to help me when it wasn’t my turn yet . . you know how much that means when you’re desperate!
Please be patient for a couple more weeks and please . . if you need a blog makeover, give Sara a shot. Her prices are great, she’s quick and she has to be good because she’s managed to do more to get me up and running than several others who have worked on it in the past.

Maybe you can go full feed until your blog is reestablished? That could give many readers a chance to skip the dreaded “database error” message. Yes, I ran into about a dozen times this morning. 🙂

I think the database error messages should be gone. I hope they’re gone!

I’m looking forward to the makeover. However, I have never seen the message you mention that is causing problems. I usually check the blog several times a day for new posts. I am loving hearing about your life as a fellow Texan. How’s the foot?

I never have seen the database error and I’m here usually soon after you post. Interesting!

I received the error several times and intermittently. Some links had errors and others didn’t. I waited a few hours and was able to access the rest of the (feather tutes) pages. Thanks for producing these lessons and making them available after the class ended. I could not participate in June. I’m making my Carpenter’s Star this week and looking forward to learning and trying feathers on my new LA. I have FOF; fear of feathers.

I like this format.. ads down one side.. and this soothing aqua will make your Texas bug pictures easier to take.. While you are redecorating the blog.. any chance you can put your posting times back again? I liked seeing what time you posted during the day.. It shows what a busy bee you are..

Oh I have seen the database error a lot… and it scares me every time ….. I think … “Oh now what will I do without my Judy break during the day!!” then it finally breaks through… Good Luck and thank you..

Isn’t it funny (bad choice of words, I know) that some have seen that error a lot and some of us haven’t seen it at all? I, too, check your blog several times a day and have been wondering what all the fuss was about. However, I know that if I couldn’t get my blog to work right it would be very frustrating, and I only post 1-2 times a week. I hope everything gets worked out for you. And I hope you can figure out a way to solve your biting bugs problems. That would really make me unhappy. Is there an exterminator that can bug proof your home and sewing room? Can’t do much about the outside except dress appropriatly, huh?

Off topic, but I do have a question. Which of your books has the pattern for “Topsy Turvy Nine Patch”?

Please be assured that your readers will be here so don’t stress yourself.

Don’t even think about giving up, not that you really would. I even sent a brief email to Sara telling her how much we need you.

I haven’t had any trouble with your blog loading. I haven’t gotten the data base error and all the pictures show up and all the links work. No problems at all. I keep wondering why the look of your blog changes but that is the only difference I’ve noticed. I don’t know if the browser has anything to do with it but I use Google Chrome.

I’m just thankful that you are still blogging despite all these troubles, bugs, blog and all! We’ll still be here hanging out till you get things back under control! I do miss the ability to go back and forward through the posts, though…
Take care of yourself and hopefully your next watermelon will be riper for you!

I haven’t seen the database error message, and I check your website multiple times a day because I need my “Judy fix”. With this temporary blog it’s nice to see everyone’s comments showing again. Our hats off to Sara! We all appreciate everything she’s done to keep you up and blogging.
The thing I have noticed while you’ve been having problems with the blog, is a pop-up window that wants me to take a survey and right under it’s title it says in small print ” you cannot close this window”. And that’s the truth; you can’t. That raised my suspicions about the legitimacy of the survey. I closed the Internet to get rid of it. I just wonder if it isn’t some virus that’s planted itself in your blog and is creating all the problems you’ve been having. I ran into that kind of situation a few months ago with another blog and even though I knew better, I clicked on the pop-up window to install supposedly the newest version of Java. That was the only way I could get rid of that window. What I installed was a virus and a lot of headaches trying to get rid of it. A few days later that blog had a message that they were experiencing problems with their website and had closed it (confirming my suspicions that that was where I picked up the virus) and they would be back with a new website as soon as possible. It took several days and that website is still trying to restore all the archived patterns and information. Don’t mean to scare you–just wanted to let you know that other quilt websites have been targeted by some evil minds who get pleasure out of wrecking havoc.

I will admit to getting the error a few times. I just step away and let it ‘breath’ for a little bit. So I will wait patiently for all the issues to get resolved on the blog and visit it several times a day anyway!

I hope these are going to be the colors you use. They are so easy on the eyes. Very nice for reading. 🙂

Maybe it’s time to take a poll because maybe it isn’t the blog but a server because why do some of us not get that database error message at all and some of you do. ??? All you’d need is the provider , like ATT, Charter, Verizon, etc and the area where we are in. Like I’m with ATT and in California to get an idea where the problem really lays. It might be the blog, but don’t seem how since some of get to you fine. But what do I know? Your new blog will be great, I am sure. Hang in there, Judy!
