I’m sure you’ve noticed that the dreaded “Database Error” messages have been haunting the blog. What you may or may not have noticed is that I can log into my account, type, upload pictures and that’s about it. I know nothing about fixing anything. To tell you the truth, I don’t even know how to “ftp” and I think that’s pretty major!
A week or so ago, I began researching blog designers. You may remember that I struck out completely with one a couple of years ago and that whole process just about caused me to stop blogging. I spent several days looking at web pages of blog designers, and looking at sites they had designed and I narrowed it down to three. I wrote them and they all wrote me back very nice emails and I just hadn’t made a decision yet. I liked the work I saw from all three of them.
The Database Error messages had been showing up from time to time and I knew it was only a matter of time before none of us could access the blog. After a couple of days without internet, I pranced myself into the public library yesterday with about half a dozen blog posts I’d done on Live Writer at home and when I tried to upload them, I could not access the blog at all. Not good! I was already so frustrated.
I went back through the emails from the blog designers and decided on Sara. I knew that she couldn’t get to me right away. All of them have a queue with a waiting list. I set her an email and I don’t know if she’s just a super nice lady or if she detected the panic in my emails but she stopped whatever she was doing and got right on it and by the time I left the library, she had the Database Error gone . . at least for now.
She’s given me a slot for mid-July to get a complete makeover. I know that there are problems viewing comments left by others and if she can fix that easily, she will but if not, please hang on til the new blog makes its debut in mid-July.
If you’re looking for a blog makeover, you may want to see what Sara does here but I’m tell you . . I’ve dealt with at least four blog designers in the past 6 or 8 years and I believe all of them would have told me just to sit back and wait my turn when I contacted them with the issues I had yesterday. I’m so pleased that I chose Sara and since there are so many blog designers out there . . it’s always nice to get a recommendation from someone who has dealt with the designer. As of now, I’m loudly singing Sara’s praises!

I’m not getting “Database error” but do have a box that says how many responses without any (apparent) way of seeing them! (Maybe after I post this).

How exciting getting a new blog. Knocking on would, I must confess I’ve never seen the database error messages or had any trouble accessing and using your site.
