Do you remember watching Dallas? It started in 1978 and ran until sometime in 1991. There have been few TV shows through the years that I have loved, but Dallas was one of them.
I would get so aggravated with those people! The greed! The deception! Around our house, everything stopped when it was time to watch Dallas. At work, at family gatherings, Dallas always came up in discussions. We were all watching the show.
Have you heard a new Dallas is about to begin? (Click on the link to read all about it!) The new series, featuring J.R., Bobby, Sue Ellen… the old time favorites, along with the cousins John Ross Ewing, who is J.R. and Sue Ellen’s son, and Christopher, Bobby’s son, and some other interesting folks, will premiere on Wednesday, June 13, at 8:00 central time on TNT. This episode will be a 2 hour show. Yay!!
Along with the original cast of Patrick Duffy (Bobby), Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) and Larry Hagman (J.R.). New folks will be Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzala and Brenda Strong.
This new Dallas promises to include the battle for power, love and Southfork itself, and will take ambition and deception to a lusciously wicked new level! The Ewing Brothers, J.R. and Bobby, continue their rivalry, which has been passed down and raised to new heights in their sons.
In preparation for the big premiere showing of Dallas, there’s a new game, Rise to Power. Check it out and play the game. Read about the cast of characters and declare your allegiance to one of them.
There are over a thousand prizes but you must declare your allegiance before 8 pm. central time on Wednesday, June 13.
If you’re really, really into Dallas, you can follow J.R. on Twitter and Facebook! And, to further add to the excitement, you can even “star” in Dallas!
Are you looking forward to the new Dallas like I am? Which one of the characters would you pledge allegiance to? I chose Ann Ewing! Also, check out the Dallas page on BlogHer to see what other bloggers thought of the show!

Yes, I was a Dallas Die Hard Fan and watched the spin-off Knot’s Landing too. I always liked Bobby! Will I swear allegiance to him? I’ll have to see on the 13th when I watch the 2 hour premiere. I’m hoping it isn’t as disappointing as the previews I’ve seen of the Dark Shadows Movie. I just don’t get Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins.

My ex grew up in Plano/Richardson, not too far from the “old” Ewing Ranch. (Not sure if the new show is shot at the same location or not). It was not nearly as big as it appeared to be. 🙂

I was a huge Dallas fan too! Very few things could cause me to miss it and if I did have to miss it I taped it. I was sorry to see it end. I HOPE this new one is a s good. My favorite was always Bobby. Probably will be this time too but we’ll see. I will miss Ms. Ellie she was such a good part of the show. Guess I know what’ll you and I will be doing on the 13th.

I, too, got hooked on the “Dallas” hour. That was MY hour. If my girls needed to talk to me, they either did it before the show started, at commercials or after it was over. They weren’t allowed to interfer in my one and ony hour of the week that I called timeout. I was there any other time, but that hour. The girls got to the point of watching the show with me and got as hooked as I was. Miss Ellie would have been my number one choice, but I will take Bobbie as number one this go around.

My parents watched Dallas and we all watched Dynasty. I preferred Dynasty. That being said, I really do like Patrick Duffy and will tune in on Wednesday night to see what’s been going on at Southfork.
I guess I really like Larry Hagman, too, but I liked him better when his character lived in Cape Canaveral (not far from me) and had a live–in girlfriend in a bottle!

I watched the cast on the Today Show this morning. BOY have they aged nicely!! I’m an SO going to watch this show. The original Dallas was a ‘stop-everything’ show where the whole house came to a halt and concentrated on Texas! I’ve got my DVR set!!!

I didn’t watch the original, but I’m up for just about anything that isn’t ‘reality’ TV! Since most everything I like to watch (which, like you, isn’t much) is in re-runs, I may give this a try when I’m knitting at night. Might be fun!

I was a Dallas fan before anyone knew about Dallas. Watched the pilot during summer and I don’t think it aired that year as I recall. When my parents moved to Dallas, my mom always did fun things when I came to visit her from NC. One trip, she drove me out to Southfork where I watched them film an episode and met Larry Hagman and Linda Grey. I had my picture taken with Larry. It was so fun watching that episode later in the year knowing that I was right there by the pool watching them. After filming, we were allowed to walk around. The house was much smaller than seen on t.v., the driveway was long and at the entrance of the driveway was a vendor peddling Southfork stuff. I, of course, had to buy a cookbook!! My mom loved seeing me having such a good time. I miss my mom; she passed away in 2003. Love ya mom .. thanks for the memories!!!

Oh I forgot to do my allegiance. I know it’s after June 13 but I’ll go ahead and pledge my allengiance to J.R. because why else, he’s J.R. and you can’t be all that bad if you are the son of Mary Martin (the original Peter Pan) for gosh sakes!! Or can you?? 🙂
