Our high today is supposed to be 99º, although the weatherman last night said 101º. I’ll take the 99º over the 101º, though what’s 2º?
To prove to you that I have on jeans and boots . .
I love my new boots! I feel like a kid who has something new and won’t take it off! I could hardly wait to get up this morning, and get dressed so I could wear my boots! 🙂
Speck’s not real sure what’s going on. He thinks the boots smell funny. Just wait til I walk out through the pasture and then come in with them! Maybe I’ll watch out for those cow pies . . at least til my boots aren’t new any more.
Now . . where’s my horse? No horse but I am going fire up the longarm and quilt Sweet Treat . . with my boots on!
Judy D in WA says
Well aren’t you all cute this morning!!! You need to tuck your jeans in so you can show those fabulous kickers off! 😉
Linda(Petey) says
You look great, Judy! YeeHaw-w-w-w!
Grace says
You have makeup on! Please tell me the makeup is only because you were taking a photo of yourself and not because you put on makeup every morning before you go to your sewing room for the day??? If you put makeup on every a.m., that would sure make me feel like a drudge.
Doris - The Quilting Queen says
A true southern Texas lady would never ever go without her makeup, jewelry, and her hair fixed, even if she’s not planning to go anywhere. You must always be prepared!! Guess I’m not a true southern Texas lady! I go without makeup and/or jewelry quite often.
Dawn says
Tuck your jeans into the boots – snakes or other critters may creep up your pant leg and surprise you!
Harriett says
Now you need a boot jack for the sewing room so you can change into sewing flip flops.
Doreen says
Definitely tuck those jeans in!!!!! Lookin’ really good, girl!!

For in the house, trips to the grocery store, taking Speck for a walk where the grass is short . . the jeans outside the boots are just fine. If I’m deep in the woods, I have on hiking boots with the jeans tucked in and laced up tightly.
The new boots don’t even go into the garden. I wear tall rubber boots with either shorts or the jeans stuffed in the boots.

I love boots!! Most often I got them at one of the outlets (?) in El Paso. When I got married…..I wore Jeans and New Tony Lamas, and I had a beautiful silk wedding blouse!! It’s all true!! That is just part of being a truck driver I guess…I have bad feet now because of diabetes. I really don’t want to lose the toes…so the Doc says no closed toed shoes??? Man I miss my boots….I wear them anyway, sometimes, because I can!! Don’t anyone tell on me LOL…. You look great !!!

looking forward to seeing how you quilt the “Sweet Treat”.
i finished my sewing my quilt top last night-Yea me! it’s in a different coloration than your May palet, but i love it.
today i’m cutting and sewing with your “Bears in the Farmhouse” quilt as my inspiration.
It’s been so long since you made yours that i just grabbed a bears quilt pattern and started cutting.
I started with a pretty stripe of medium royal blue, beige, old gold, and lite olive green. matched that with a soft butter yellow background, a lovely Spring green for the cornerstones, denim blue for the bear claws, and came up with “Bears in the Chicken Coop!”
Linda in NE says
Actually, I think Speck is wondering where his boots are.
Linda Steller says
Woo hooo! You go girl! I bought myself a pair of ruby slippers at MQX this year. Red Marbled Patent Leather Danskos. Can you say stylin’? 😉 I’ll have to take a picture of them one of these days. They are pretty comfy for quilting, but I have to take the right one off when I’m sewing. I always have to sew barefoot.

While I won’t argue with others’ logic about critters running up the inside of the pant leg, what do the locals do? Wouldn’t want you to feel like the oddball. When I was growing up, we never put our jeans inside the boots unless we were headed to the barn and knew the mud & manure would get the bottom of our pant legs wet, and if it was that bad, we’d use the knee high rubber boots instead. I think, from seeing your bug posts, I might be just as concerned about some critter dropping into my boots from the top if my pants were tucked in. Boots & jeans suit you well.

Lookin’ good, Judy!
Stephani Siekierski says
Jeans go inside the boots in the field because a million microscopic chiggers live there. You have not been bit ’till you have had chigger bites. Fire ants is about the only thing that comes close but you can see those.

Judy, You are looking real good!! On my computer you look as if you just stepped out of a Western Girl fashion magazine! Slim, trim and ready to ride the rodeo! I love your boots too. I like to wear boots but with my height and the neighborhood, it just makes me more conspicuous — and that I don’t want. But, when in Texas I do try to fit in.
Karen says
LOL at the comments – seriously the chance of encountering a snake on the way to the quilting studio are pretty slim I bet – the jeans on the outside of the boots are just fine – really I would be roasting in jeans and boots – I’m barefoot in the house – Capri’s and sandals outside and it is pretty hot here in Arkansas too.
