Between grasshopper hunting, the real job and my “honey do” list, this coop may not be finished before I have grandchickens!
Now that I have roosters, I can have grandchickens, you know?
This one is going to be cute too! See the divider in the middle. One side will be for bantams and one side for Dominiques or whatever we have as overflow of full size chickens. Of course, the divider will go all the way to the top and will be solid because we know the chickens can fly! (We also know that pigs cannot! ) I think the inside of each half is going to be about 6’ x 4’ so that’s big enough for 6 full size chickens on each side. As of now, we’ll have 5 bantams on one side and 6 full size on the other side.
Today Vince was building out the egg/nesting boxes. I can hardly wait to see those little bantams when they get to walk around outside.
Pretty good Saturday for us.

Judy, now I know what is at the back of your mind. Once you get the chickens settled, you’ll have to have some pigs. You’ll need hacon to go with the eggs. Good luck! Ron.

You made me smile! The last couple of years we’ve been fortunate to be able to spend several weeks at a friend’s cabin in TN. Just about where VA touches TN & KY, there’s a beautiful “Flying Pigs Road.” I laughed every time we passed it!

Nice! It was a great day here today, too. I finally got the doc to call in some high powered meds for this stupid virus yesterday, so, while my ribs are still hurting, I got a little more done. Cleaned the kitchen, did laundry (including washing my bedding in HOT water to get rid of virus), took the dog for a walk, and fell asleep in the adirondack chair in the backyard. LOL Now I’m going to work on some sewing stuff. I think a sweatshirt jacket for my aunt!
