Back to the cactus we were searching for when we were almost eaten by the cows. Not really, they only wanted treats . . they weren’t going to hurt us. I was kinda scared but not really scared.
We did find plenty of cactus. The little tender ones are the ones we were searching for. (Notice there’s only one of us “we” that’s actually doing the work!)
We got plenty of cactus for several meals, plus a couple of blossoms.
We both worked hard on getting them all cleaned.
Then Vince grilled them.
We had smoked brisket, grilled nopales and home canned baked beans. Yum!

Now you have gone over the edge…… Soon you will be disconnecting the electricity and living off the land, and one of those cows will be on the spit!

I am curious about the taste too…and also how you clean them – do you wear one of the rotary cutting gloves? 😉
