Who would have thought Vince would get the little calf to eat out of his hand before I could get him to eat out of mine . . the calf . . not Vince. Some women do have their husband eating out of their hand . . it’s not that way around here. OK . . that’s not where this blog post was supposed to be headed! 🙂
I’ve been talking to those little calves and trying to get them to trust me and no . . they want nothing to do with me and look at this.
He’s had these girls eating out of his hand for a while now.
Not this guy though. He’s a hard nut to crack. He just stands and stares. He’s coming around a bit . . getting closer and will eat the treats we throw to him. His owner said that within the next week or so, he’ll have him eating out of his hand . . we’re waiting.

it’s hard to get those babies to come close. i just love to rub their head if they get close enough. our bull was usually a bit standoffish, too. like he couldn’t really be bothered by the girls getting all domesticated. LOL i think it’s a guy thing. glad your’re having fun.

That Vince—-such a ladies’ man!! 🙂
Random thought: The brand on the black one’s hip looks almost like a pair of scissors.

I love this! We feed the nieghbors cattle by hand when the apples are ripe. The babies are the best. Usually no fear. The old heffers tend to stand back and wait for us to throw. Most have come around but just like people there’s always a few grouchies.

It’s fun trying to get the critters friendly. I’ve got a pair of Cardinals here that I’m working on. They aren’t flying away now when I open the door and throw a peanut to them and actually come half way across the deck towards me, So some progress!
