How much more fabric can be lurking in those unpacked boxes? Don’t answer that!
The real story is that I haven’t unpacked any of my clothes except jeans and t-shirts. I bought a few pairs of shorts but in the next couple of weeks, there are several events for which I have to put on decent clothes. I had them at the rental so there’s no telling what box they got stuck in and whether or not it’s even labeled. I’ve searched and searched and I’m done . . I’m going shopping and you know how badly I hate doing that, but I must find something to wear.
This morning while looking through boxes, I found some that all said “Sewing Room”, along with “Marbles”, “Browns”, “Greens”. I thought to myself that we must’ve re-used those boxes but went ahead and opened them and yep, more fabric.
Our of curiosity, I measured the short stack on the right side (with the tan on top) and the lime green in the middle. There’s over 20 yards in that stack so that means there’s at least 120 yards of fabric sitting on top of that table. My fabric shelves are full. As of mid-April, my net used is less than half that amount. I hope to use at least 120 more yards this year but at this rate, I’m not making much progress with using up my stash.
The stacks of fabric on the floor are for the three projects I’m currently working on. Three quilts at once .. I’m feeling a bit pressured.

If you are going to add to your stash — finding fabric is the best way for the pocket book. Good luck with your clothes shopping. I try to avoid that task myself.

You know if you want to get rid of some of that fabric- I’m sure some people would be happy to take some off your hands!!!! 🙂
As if I really need more considering I have to buy another bin or 2 to put my overflowing stash in and the sad part is- it’s really a small stash compared to some

I think fabric multiply in boxes or where ever they are stored, at least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. :^)

Know what you mean!!!! I’m finishing up 2 quilts, working on another WIP and have a class beginning Sunday on another. Meantime I have all these new stacks of fabrics I already had for various projects (ie, January color challenge, etc. etc.)_ I know what I want to do – have all together – but oh my!
Something else too – for SOME reason things I have for class invariably have to have MORE FABRIC added to them. Example for this class I’m taking Sunday – I have MOST of the various fabrics – but not all! Had to go buy 3.5 yards plus 6 FQ more! Was sooooooo unhappy (yeah – right – and my name is Pinocchio too!)

It must be like Christmas all over again when you start opening those boxes. Random thought: I wonder if they ever thought of having a quilter on that prepper show? Along with the food, water, armament and whatever, there could be piles of fabric. Random thought #2: I really like that lavender fabric on the floor.

I’ve got that same cutting table! I think it’s at least 20 years old. I bet the new ones don’t last as long! Don’t fret about the fabric. At least you aren’t finding unpaid bills.

Maybe one of the events is the Brownwood quilt show? Saw that in the paper today. Then there will be one in Abilene soon.
I’d like to Thank you for posting about Best Press. I’d never paid any attention to it until you posted. I bought a bottle at our quilt show in March. I love it!!! Hancock’s has it on sale so I bought 2 more bottles. They didn’t have the large refill bottle in the “fresh linen”. Maybe they will the next time.
Thanks again.

Judy, did your friend ever find any of the quilts were stolen from her car? I have been at the Mayo Clinic for several days and have a lot of catch-up reading to do.

I wish I had that problem-lol

Nice looking stash. I need to take time and re-organize all my fabric into one place, but I know it would probably shock me to find out how much I have lurking around my house! I’ve been good about not buying much more this year, but finding time to bust more has been hard. I’m so busy doing other activities. Thank goodness it doesn’t spoil!!! 🙂

You could put it back in the box,and ship it somewhere else? Does that count?

I know YOU are shocked that you have so much fabric but just think..you have a place to PUT it. Think of us who have much but nowhere to go on that. I just loved the picture…looking and looking at the fabrics. Quilters must have a disease on all things fabric. Thanks for showing us.

Judy, you know that i would gladly volunteer to take some of that excess fabric off your hands. But if i did that i would have to find another place to put my bed. Now don’t get me wrong, i love quilting and i love fabric, but I’ll have to draw the line at moving my bed into the living room to make room for more fabric, lol.

I love the fabric you found! And I agree, I hate clothes shopping. The sizes have all changed and are not consistent so I have to try everything on and it takes forever. My Mom can happily take 2 hours trying on clothes to find the perfect blouse – not me. That cuts into my quilting time too much!

Hey!
At least you didn’t have to add all that fabric to your stash report! LOL
