A Picture Is Worth 1,000 Words!

Old Bossie is just so darned bossy!  She pushed the other cows out of the way so she can get all the treats.   I’ve tried thumping her on her big head and that doesn’t phase her one bit.  Today, I decided .. she’s not listening to my “be nice” message so maybe it’s time I tried something different with her.   I’ll show her a picture of what happens to bad cows!  I wore my “Hamburgers Are Made of WHAT?” T-shirt out there and I explained to her . . do you want this to happen to you?  She and her buddy were listening intently.  You can see them leaning closer to hear my every word!

During the middle of my pep talk, she must have had a change of attitude because you can see, she’s trying to be nice and kiss me!

Yuck!  Cow kisses are not soft and gentle!

We’ll have to see if she got the message.  Seriously . . don’t anyone get upset.  She’s not going to be made into hamburger.  She doesn’t even belong to me and really, she’s a nice cow but she is the dominant one out there and she makes sure the rest of them know it.

Not to disappoint, but I bet she was licking salt from your skin! I remember how our old cows would push and shove each other whenever we tossed a partially eaten watermelon over the fence to them. Cows love watermelon!

There are some hard headed females in Texas- yes even cows.
    Love the t-shirt.

    Judy,
You are so funny! I love reading what all you are up to, whether it is quilty or not!
You make me feel like such a slacker because I don’t garden at all or do 1/2 the stuff you do. But I do pet my cows. And yes, there is a leader in every herd and you can tell by watching the herd just a little while who she is.
I really think I would like just a few hens, but my hubby works at Tyson and you can’t have your own chickens because of the threat of diseases.

Love the candid shots of you and Bossy. I wonder who was taking those pictures?? Those are dairy cows, right? When are you scheduled to start that facet of your farm experience at your Yellow Jacket Ranch.? That was my job when I was little and visiting my grandparents. It was such fun then!!
