It’s so nice to be loved. I think Miss Red really loves me. I know she loves me when the bucket is full of treats but I think she loves me even when I don’t have treats because I scratch the side of her head. She can’t do that, you know!
All the babies were getting their afternoon snack. Miss Red saw me walking up and she shook that calf off and came right up to see me!
She was quite interested in my camera. I usually am taking pictures with the cell phone and I guess she wondered why I was using something different. I love this picture . . except for the pile of you know what that Miss Red did NOT do! I think I’m going to get this picture printed and frame it. I really like this cow!

Cows are very peaceful – to watch them eating or anything they are lovely.

cows terrify me, so I applaud your bravery! you are a lucky/blessed/smart lady. lucky, because you’ve got this gorgeous land. blessed, because only a few people can enjoy what you have. and smart, because you and Vince worked hard to make this happen!

You realize of course that that “pile” would be good for your garden.
I am so pleased that you are enjoying yourself so much………As am I.

uh, oh….you are naming the cows. LOL i named some of ours, too. like you, i had one that came all the time. and then there was the bull that i named hamburger. LOL …..he had me trapped in the garden for about 30 minutes before he lost interest in me and went away.

I see you a buddies as well. I love taking photos of them. Your cows look friendly, too. I took a photo of ours just as a storm was brewing and used it as the Header on my blog. Even the cows looked on in terror, it seems.
Take care and have a great weekend.

You can totally photoshop that pile out 🙂 or leave it for the inherent charm of cows.
I had dinner at a friends’ house and as we were eating the most delicious chili ever she said, “Oh, and the cow’s name was Rug” I stopped mid-bite and she assured me that it wasn’t a pet cow, they’d just named it Rug since that’s what they were going to do with its pelt. I will say though, Rug was delicious and apparently had a very happy cow life 🙂

You can always photoshop out the cow pie! We lease our pasture to a fellow who runs about a dozen or so cows on it. It’s fun to watch them, especially the babies.

Send the picture to me, Judy and I’ll edit it for you. You’ll never know it wasn’t there from the beginning.

Love the nose, Judy! I always loved the cows. When I was a kid and they were in the barn to get milked I’d climb up on their backs and sit. All except Strawberry, she was one mean cow.

Hey Judy,
Your ‘Miss Red’ is gorgeous! You should definitely get her picture framed, cow pile and all 😉 Both my grandfathers and uncle were dairy farmers – gotta love those cows and all the butter and cream as a result…Mmmmmm – makes me hungry just thinkin’ about it…maybe I’ll just check into one of your recipes…Thanks!

My grandfather had cows and he built this merry go round thing that moved around while the cows stood under it and it scratched and kept the horrible biting flies off the cows. The cows loved it. LOL. I wish I could remember more how it was made. He made it himself.
