You would think I have a sun tan. I need to spend more time in the sun . . soaking up some Vitamin D. But . . this is not what it appears.
Except . . it’s dirt! It will all wash off. I’m obviously still wearing flip flops in the garden. But, the good news is . . I did buy some nail polish and if I’m lucky, one coat will last til winter and I won’t have to waste time polishing my toenails again!

I’m right there with you, Judy! I just removed the last of the polish from early December!

HA! My husband makes fun of me wearing flip-flops in the garden but it’s so much easier to slip on and off when going to the garden. I’m glad I’m not the only one… except I never paint my toe nails anything but clear. In other news wish us luck it looks like we will be closing in a couple weeks and we still don’t have a house to move into!

I see no problems with flip flops…practically all I wear! However, the toenails are gonna grow so you will have to do touch ups on the polish or take the polish off or not! You don’t need to impress the cows do you??

i guess you haven’t seen any snakes in the garden yet…..or you would not be wearing those flip flops. LOL

LOL! I’m still in wool socks here in Northern California. It’s touched 70 here but last night it was 39 degrees! We can’t even plant our tomatoes yet and we usually do it by the middle of March. I don’t paint my toes until I start wearing sandals and crop pants. (Remember when we called them peddle-pushers?–LOL!)

I put on flip flops the first warm day and that’s what I wear until the snow starts. I wear leather ones for dressier occasions.

Black widows, Judy! Best get some of those garden clogs or something. I know crocs are ugly, but it’s nice to have something with a little better protection on your feet and that you can still slip easily on and off. Also something you can just hose off if they get muddy. Of course, with flip flops, you won’t have to worry about not being able to get your shoe off if your foot swells if you get bitten. I worry – can you tell? 😉

Weird tan lines (or dirt lines)… I love them! I thought my Crocs left a weird tan (little brown circle spots on my feet), but my kayaking shoes REALLy leave a weird tan. I have strangely shaped triangular and rectangular shapes all over the tops of my feet and it won’t wash off. I’m stuck with it until next winter. But it’s worth it. Fishing/kayaking is so wonderful this time of year!

You definitely know more about gardening than I ever will, but in my small little home garden I wear Croc rainboots – through all the seasons. Like Vince’s favorite crocs – they are easy to put on – with socks or barefoot. And they keep you safe from insects, rodents and those nasty reptiles. I love these….. http://www.amazon.com/crocs-Womens-Crocband-Jaunt-Black/dp/B002JCSRAM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333829729&sr=8-1…but I’ve even bought cheap ones from Walmart. My neighbors laugh at me during the summer — in shorts, tank tops and rainboots! 🙂

I have black rubber boots that I wore in the snow in MO but my feet get way too hot in those in the summer. It don’t matter to me if my neighbors laugh at me because no one listens to those cows and chickens when they laugh! 🙂
