Vince has all the walls done and ready to put up. The builder and his helper will be here in the morning to finish . . I hope!
Notice how I always try to get lots of background in the picture so you can see how pretty it is here! 🙂
You can see the house. It’s not nearly as far as it was in MO from the house to the coop and you can bet I shouldn’t be walking through 20+” of snow . . ever! The water faucet is close . . just over to the left is the hookup for the RV and there’s a faucet there. There’s also electricity there and there are outlets on the outside of the shop which is just to the right.
Where the blue bucket is . . in the background to the left, that’s where the RV hooks are.
This coop is 2′ longer and 1′ wider than the last one was. The wall Vince has standing is the wall that has the vent that we open and close for cross-ventilation. The wall laying down is where the egg boxes and the two windows will be.
It will be a wonderful coop . . built by my wonderful husband! 🙂

Your trees & grass are all so nice & green already. Guess I shouldn’t complain…things are greening up fast around here too. It was such a mild winter and now we’ve had such nice weather so early, maybe too early. The apricot tree is blooming a whole month earlier than last year. Last year everything but the apricot tree froze so I really hope we’re done with freezing this year.

Have you picked a color for the coop yet? Purple? Green?

Judy, is the new coop two inches bigger or two feet bigger? Just curious. We may write things differently being here in Aust.
Chicken vents don’t sound like much fun, guess its just like babies and diapers – unavoidable – but everything does pass, thankfully.
Love that quilt, I am so unimaginative, I would never have thought to doe a meandering sashing and it just makes that quilt pop.
Cheerio

I did write inches but it’s feet. I fixed it.

Good job Vince!
How’s the little patient Judy?

Hi Judy,
I love your chicken coops! Can I ask about the building plans? Is Vince just making it up as he goes? Did you purchase plans? I’d REALLY like to make my own version…

Love the pictures Judy feel as if I was there. Everything is so lovely and green which makes me happy but not my husband who mows the grass. It reminds me of Missouri. makes me homesick. I would love to have chickens but we just moved into town this week and I traded chickens for my own sewing room. After moving the material my husband said I didn’t need to buy any for the next 10 years… what does he know huh?
Amy @ Heritage Homemaker says
Is Vince using plans to build it or just his own design?
