There’s so much that we need to get done. We’re certainly not “real” ranchers or farmers but even life out here is so different from life in town. This is the life we wanted and we’re loving every minute of it so I’m definitely not complaining. We stay out working on something til dark and then come in so tired . . we sleep really good at night!
Here’s the chicken coop progress.
Yep, it’s my own fault for getting chickens when the coop wasn’t built but I’m hoping we get some serious progress made on this thing this weekend.
The garden needs to be planted but can’t be planted til the fence is up.
It needs to be tilled up one more time and the fence has to be put up and then I can start planting. I’m ready! Due to the move, I didn’t get to have a garden last year. I have seeds. I have plantS . . I just need a fence.
My cousin is coming to visit my aunt so if it rains on Sunday, as it might, we’ll head down to visit them so no matter what happens, we have big plans for our weekend. Hope you all have a good one!

As they say in the movies, and on the Yellow Jacket Ranch,
“It’s a wonderful life!”
Enjoy your weekend, whatever the plans may be.

I am ready to move the girls into the coop, for their good and mine as I have an allergy to pine and we’re bedding them on pine shavings in the house, but the coop isn’t secure yet. It doesn’t need much, but Mike is traveling so will have to wait until he gets back from this trip.
And also have seeds to plant and young strawberries that came in ahead of my time table, with the garden beds not finished yet and need him to finish, again when he gets back from this trip.
I understand completely where you’re at this weekend!

Take that drive on Sunday anyway. We wre out in the Hill country yesterday and the blue bonnets as well as the other wildflowers are really popping.
