I think I just knitted the perfect sock! Not because I’m a great knitter but because Zora is a fantastic pattern and String Theory Caper yarn is a perfect yarn!
The Zora pattern is easy to follow. The cables are very easy to make . . a heck of a lot easier than that last sock I made. The yarn . . well, did I say it’s just perfect. So far, not one knot in the skein. It has 10% cashmere. I love knitting with yarn that’s about 1 oz./100 yards. Not too thin. Not too thick . . just right!
And while I’m talking about the pattern, I’m so thankful to Ravelry and all of the patterns and info offered on that site!
Just look at those cables! I can’t stop looking at and feeling these socks. They’re for a gift so I don’t get to keep them but I will try to remember to take a picture outside once the second sock is done. The color on the socks isn’t right and my table isn’t orange either!
The second sock will get cast on this afternoon and I hope to have these finished before the weekend . . so I can start another pair! 🙂

I love Ravelry. Whenever I have a knitting question, that’s the first place I look.

Judy, just got my first two skeins of String Theory Caper Sock yarn – can’t wait to get started. It’s so soft and squishy.
Have to finish another pair first.

Judy, what colour is this yarn? I checked your original post (March 10) about these socks, and you didn’t mention it. It looks quite blue in the first post–a colour my hubby would like. Maybe if I hurry, I could get some!

The sock looks wonderful! I made the Paraphernalia socks on ravelry and the cable was quite tight to do, so I will have to try the Zora pattern next. Right now I am making the BFF socks and I am enjoying that. Love reading your sock updates and reviews of yarn and patterns!
Thanks for sharing with us.

Great looking sock! I went over to ravelry and printed out this pattern. As soon as I get the pair I’m working on finished, I’m going to do the Zora pattern…. if I can really restrain myself that long…. must look for another set of circulars…. and sock yarn….. and maybe I’ll just cast on one tonight…. I have no willpower – LOL!

Hi Judy,
I am an “ok” knitter — definitely in the beginner category — but you raved about this pattern so much I printed it (plus one other that is supposed to be very good for beginners) and I thought I would give them a try.
But I have a question. . . . do you know of a good resource that gives advice about how to increase the size of a sock pattern? The pattern for this sock says it is for 4 1/2 – 5 1/2. . . . . .but I’m a 7 1/2 so I’m looking for some information about how many stitches to add to increase the pattern to that size. . . .and I haven’t found anything on the web that gives me that info.
Any help would be appreciated. . . .not that you are an encyclopedia or anything. . . but thought I’d throw the question out.
