This time change is kicking my behind! It’s almost 8:00 p.m. by the time we come in from working outside and then there are things to be done in the house so getting to bed by midnight has not been happening . . two nights in a row! Up at 6 a.m. and that’s just not enough sleep for me. Do you struggle to adjust to the time change? Was it easier when you were younger? Please tell me I’m not getting old! 🙂
This morning I sewed for a while and got just a little accomplished.
A little housework has been done and now I’m going to sit and knit and look out the window . . . watch for deer and cows and listen to the birds singing. Might not sound like fun to some but it’s a life I love!
What are you doing this afternoon?
Dora, the quilter says
Oh, my, yes, I struggle with the time change–every time! (I loved living in AZ and not having it be an issues–although none of my out-of-state friends could remember what time it was in AZ!)
I have a 70 mile commute to work and am soooooo grateful we are on spring break this week. The increase in accidents the week following the time change is absolutely shocking–and I hate being back to getting up in the dark! (Still have to get up because my daughter’s not on spring break!)
Enjoy your knitting and watching and listening! Sounds like fun!

takes me to weeks to fully adapt to the time change.

OK I wouldn’t dream of telling you that you are getting old!!! I would just say that more time on earth beats the alternative!! LOL LOL. It is true that the older you get the more that time change is tough, but so are lots of things 🙂 My mind says “you can do it, you always have” my body answers……Ya right, good luck with that now!! ROFLOL. It just amazes me when I go to do something and well……..it just isn’t there anymore??? I don’t get it??? In my mind I am still 20 something? What the heck is going on??
Just a final word…..GETTING OLD IS NOT FOR SISSY’S
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

The time change kicks my butt…hate it.Messes w/ my sleep but my husband says it’s all in my head./it will take about 2-3 weeks to get better.

The time change is ugly! First year I haven’t had to deal with a room full of ‘confused’ children at school because of it 🙂 They do not want to go to bed or get up an hour early and can be a bit grumpy! Takes everyone time to adjust to their clock being moved.
I am going to knit this afternoon too and on a sock…my first one! Have tried and given up several times and this sock has been restarted 4 times but it is looking good. No holes where I go from one DP needle to the next. Have you tried the stretchy cast on, Judy? I found it last night on you tube and am liking the result. Happy knitting and watching…don’t dose off 🙂

Sorry…doze…old fingers!

I hate too tell you but the older you get it seem like the less you do.

I don’t usually have a problem but this year the time change is rough. I’m an hour later getting up every morning this week – good thing my walking partner is away, so I just get up and head to work. Kids are off school – so maybe the lack of urgency to get up at 6am has something to do with my trouble 🙂
I love your afternoon plans. I’m spending my afternoon at work, wishing I was home sewing (or knitting – that would be good too).

time change always bothers me a bit and sometime takes me several weeks to adjust. When we travel it doesn’t seem to bother me as much when we go to different time zones – now Arizona confused me terribly!!

LOL, try a time change on top of the flu. the combination is guaranteed to knock anyone for loop. I keep telling everyone that my clock just seemed to stand still, and my time change day was 36 hours long insteaad of just 23. At least today i can stay vertical for a while, but this afternoon will be spent in bed again still recouperating.

I’ll make it unanimous, the time change kicks my butt, too. I don’t feel like doing anything today, except stare off into space. But, I’m going to force myself to do something, because I don’t want to waste the day. Maybe some brainless string piecing……

We are struggling *big time* last night it was 8pm before I remembered to make dinner – with 3 kids who kinda need to get in bed before the sun comes up – that was a big Whoopsie!!!
Today… I am dragging – wanting a nap….. sigh

I also am having a rough time with the time change. It also doesn’t help that we have had so many weather fronts passing over us lately. I can hardly keep my eyes open now. This morning it was into town for blood test for regular appointment, When we got home we checked our garden and the spinach is finally up. Three whole chops doing well.
Washing clothes and redoing a design in EQ for new fabric coming out this spring for Quilting Treasures.
Think I will fold the towels, put the rest of the clothes in the dryer and take a nap. Then it will be time to make dinner after I finish up the clothes.

This afternoon I took an hours nap. Time change has meant I can’t seem to get to sleep at night so I’ve been reading and, like you, six hours just doesn’t do it for me. Hope by the weekend, I’m back to normal as a nap cuts into my sewing time.

I am also having difficulty with the time change this year. I’ve been tired all day, then waking up in the middle of the night (not usual for me). After waking up, I don’t get back to sleep, but have short naps.
This time of year, my sewing room gets too hot in the afternoons, so I like to get as much done in the mornings as possible. I’ve been busy getting my last two large projects near to completion, and I’m also dealing with my quilting group winding up for the season. I’ve even planned a project for next winter, complete with yardage required, so they can shop over the summer, or check their stash.

the time change doesn’t bother me much….but now i seem to only sleep 7 hours instead of my usual 8. sometimes by summer i am just sleeping 6. there is just too much good daylight to waste it sleeping. this afternoon i am cleaning out flower beds. i did a bit a couple days ago and will continue a bit every day till they are all done. did some tree and bush trimming this morning. i hate sticker bushes.

The time change doesn’t bother me too much. I guess that’s because I never know what time it is. I’ve always had trouble with bed time so at this stage in life, I’m not fighting it. It’s a shame that doesn’t come until retirement but I guess the rest of the world does work on a time grid.
I’m planting, planting and more planting. Can’t wait for Spring to actually get here to Missouri.
I’d like to be knitting – maybe tonight.

At the computer at work. To break up the day and try to stay awake I wander onto Patchwork Times about every other hour. It works for me.

It is not just you, Judy! 🙂 The time change is killing me this year. Today I got up at 4 am to take my husband to the airport. It is 5 pm now and I’m kind of tired but I’ll stay up until 10 or so.
This afternoon I met with my group at the Library. We call it therapy! I was stitching a binding on a little art quilt. Then I hit my LQS because I’m taking a refresher course on hand quilting next week. I’m actually quilte excited about it! It has been 20 years since I did hand quilting!!!

The time change is very hard to get used to. My grandchildren are having a hard time with school bus in the morning. I like the sun in the morning more than the evening so I wish they would leave it alone.
Debbie W says
I also struggle with the time change. Spring is worse than fall but both are very annoying! Places that leave their clocks the same all year have the right idea!

As a child, the time change never bothered me. Now I’m in my 50’s, and it kicks my butt as well. It takes me at least a week to feel normal again. I find myself falling asleep at work (in a room by myself, so very easy to do, unless the phone rings!) I get home in the afternoon, and sit down to read the paper, and the same thing – I find myself falling asleep. It’s only 7:30 here, and I feel like I could go to bed right now. I didn’t even hear the alarm this morning, and I’m usually a light sleeper! Thank goodness we set 2 alarms, 5 minutes apart!!!
