The socks that I started in February ended up being a real hassle for me to get finished. I’ve already mentioned it but I was trying to knit them when my finger was injured so the tension wasn’t great and the pattern wasn’t a favorite and I kept putting off finishing. Thursday I said to myself that I was getting those socks finished before the weekend was over. I knitted Thursday night and got the heel turned and then Friday I sat and knitted almost all day. And, I’m happy to say I finished them last night!
The picture above shows the color more accurately but the picture below shows the design better.
Next socks – – not sure what pattern but I’m using Caper Sock by String Theory. I do love this yarn!
For the pattern, I’ll either use Olympic Copper or Zora. Both start out with casting on 64 stitches, and K1 P1 ribbing so I got started on that last night.
It feels really good to be finished with those light blue socks!

Beautiful socks! Congratulations for getting them complete. I like both patterns you’re looking at for the next project, too. How will you decide?

Hi Judy! Love the socks! I’m just finishing “Diamonds in the Fluff” (also Ravelry) and am just loving them too. These have a “Riverbed Heel Flap” and a star toe-very different and comfortable. I think my next pair will be with real cables-perhaps orange or ruby color too. I’m also working on a King size “Hunter’s Star” quilt. You are an inspiration, and I love reading your Blog! Thanks!

Very pretty finish and I love the yarn you picked for the next pair.

Learning to knit socks is on my Bucket List. Right now I am working on an afghan.
By the way, how is your finger?

I’m working on Olympic Copper right now. I’m using metal-tipped circulars (two) and they keep slipping off the needles while I’m trying to get the stitches on the cable needle! Arghh! Next time I start a pair of socks with cables, I’ll get some bamboo circulars first! Judy, despite the trouble they gave you, the socks turned out very nicely. Good job!

They turned out great. I pulled out some String Theory yarn and some Yo Yo – String and Fluff last night and can’t decide which to use – mostly cause I can make my mind up about a pattern so I’ve got to make some decisions today since I think the rest of the afternoon I’ll spend knitting.

i love the pattern zora. my first item i ever knitted in 1968, was a pullover v neck, long sleeved sweater, and it had cables up and down both sides, down the arms, and the v was a cable as well. Never knitted a thing since then-lol. although i do have a project planned. Despite not fitting into that sweater now, i still have it. Love cables!
