Staying on track with the list, the pink Carpenter’s Star quilt was actually finished on Wednesday night but I did get the backing pieced yesterday.
The purple fabric has 1996 on the selvage. I remember buying that while I still lived in Louisiana and I left there in 1997 so it’s an oldie but a goody. It’s a Lunn fabric and definitely looks like the fabrics they produced during that era. Even though it’s a tone on tone and at one I would have used it for piecing, I think my tastes have drifted more to tone on tones with less print . . almost a solid or certainly something that would read a solid from a photo such as this. So, it’s a great backing and it’s great to have it out of my stash.
On the agenda for today — getting the blue Carpenter’s Star pieced. It’s been a busy morning so hopefully I can sew the rest of the day and late into the night.

Judy,
Do you ever have any problems with fabric that is aged, such as mentioned in your post?

Great quilt and great back!
