The main portion of the top should now be made and it’s time to work on borders. There are 6 borders, with one of those being a pieced border.
The original fabric requirements suggested using Fabric 3 (med/dark yellow) for the pieced border background but any yellow can be used, along with the different purples used in the top.
This is the block for the pieced border and it measures 4″ finished or 4-1/2″ unfinished. Make 56 blocks for the border:
For each block, using your favorite method, make 1 Flying Goose that measure 2″ x 4″ finished or 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ unfinished.
Also, using your favorite method, make one half square triangle that measures 2″ finished or 2-1/2″ unfinished, together with a 2-1/2″ square.
For the side borders, sew together 15 blocks, turning them in different directions. For the top and bottom borders, sew together 11 blocks, plus the two for the corners, also turning them in different directions.
For the non-pieced borders, Fabric 2 (light/medium yellow) and Fabric 4 (dark purple) were suggested. Use whatever fabrics you desire.
The measurements listed below are the cutting/unfinished size to be created for the borders.

The finished top should measure 64″ x 80″ finished.
