Today I am overwhelmed! We were sitting upstairs having lunch, the mail man came, Chad went to the mail box and came back with a large stack of envelopes. He helped open them and add up the checks and we were both amazed at your generosity. There are many notes and stories and yes, I was in tears as I read the notes, especially realizing that $25 is a sacrifice for many. One reader sent a check for $25 for her donation and another check for $20 from her daughter. Thank you Kelsey! It’s so nice to know young folks are willing to help too.
I had a question for the local Red Cross office. I know the director here and her husband works with Vince. I told her what we were doing and she was genuinely touched.
The donations received today add up to $1,020 for a total received in two days of $1,195. I had said I would give away two quilts if I got at least 50 donations and that would equal $1,250. I think it’s safe to say I’ll be giving away two quilts and maybe even three of them. Thank you all so much!
You can always click on the “Help Joplin” tab near the top of the blog to get the updated totals.

Yay! I just wish there was more I could do to help. Actually I wish I could wiggle my nose and undo all the devastation…….
Hopefully my check will be there tomorrow.

I am so happy…….I posted what you were doing on my blog too. I hope that was OK with you that I directed people to your blog to get your address.
You are wonderful to be helping like this!

Awesome job of fundraising!!!
There are so many people without homes, who have lost family members and friends…not just to the Joplin tornado, but to other tornadoes, floods…ugh. I wish there was a way to help each and every one of them. So sad.
