For borders and long sashing strips, I’ve given the size that they need to be before adding them to the top. I cut mine across the width of the fabric and join them at a 45º angle. Cut yours across the width or down the length . . whatever works for you.
Cut the following sashing strips:
Fabric 7 (purple) Cut 10 – 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ strips
Fabric 5 (medium green) Cut 5 – 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ strips
Fabric 6 (dark green) Cut 6 – 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ strips
Fabric 3 (dark yellow) Cut 4 – 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ strips
Using the appropriate colored sashing strip, sew the blocks to the sashing strips and create vertical rows as shown.
Cut the following border/vertical sashing strips.
Fabric 7 (purple) Cut 6 – 2-1/2″ x 64-1/2″ strips
Fabric 7 (purple) Cut 2 – 2-1/2″ x 57-1/2″ strips
Sew the 2-1/2″ x 64-1/2″ strips between the rows and sew the 57-1/2″ strips to the top and bottom of the top.

This is going to be such a pretty quilt. I think it is one of the prettiest ones you have made. You must have poured your wounded heart and soul (wounded from the sorry conditions surrounding your house hunting) into this one. We are all pulling for you, we may have to go evict someone down there so you can have a house. Hang in there!
