Do you put bumper stickers on your vehicle? I can’t remember the last time I had one but this one came with my Penzey’s order today.
Seems like they should have their web page or name or something on the front though. On the back is their info and it will all be peeled off if I put it on my car.
Just to prove that I love my family . . they’re getting chicken and sausage gumbo tonight.
Maybe that bumper sticker should say “Love the Cook! She Makes You Tasty Food!”

I had that Gumbo for lunch today. The last of my leftovers. For dinner we are having a new Chili recipe I got of of Cook’s kitchen on PBS, it has no beans and uses a 3-4 lb beef roast. Lots of spices. Maybe too spicy for me. We will see. Patti

Thank you for blogging about Penzey’s spices. I visited the one in Indianapolis Saturday and was thrilled to get such wonderful, fresh spices. Now I need to throw away my old, stale ones. I’m not an avid cook like you are, but I want my dishes to taste good, so I use a lot of herbs and spices.

I agree with your last sentiment!

Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo is one of my favorite gumbos. I do it as a file gumbo. 🙂
I have a couple bumper stickers on my car. They are magnets. So, I guess they’re not stickers. 🙂 They are magnets that I have to remember to take off before I go through the carwash. 🙂

I have one sticker….it is about Bluegrass, nothing political! Like Ida, mine is a magnet. I bought magnetic stuff at Michaels and applied my sticker to that so I can remove at any time.

My Momma was always prettiest when she was cooking.

Who wouldn’t ‘feel the love’ with that dish???? Yum Yum!!! Southern cooking at it’s best!

I have only one bumper sticker on my car: “No Farms / No Food.”
Too much good farmland has been built over, esp. in the Central Valley of California. Then all those houses–built in questionable locations vis-a-vis jobs–were foreclosed on, because the jobs went away.
Now we’ve lost both the houses *and* the farmland/food that grew there. 🙁

I got one of those too with my order. Mark loves it and is putting it on his truck!

If you put a comma in the middle of that phrase, it would be pretty ghoulish!
I have never put a bumper sticker on any car I’ve owned, and I find it tiresome to be behind someone who has plastered their entire car with them. We seem to have a lot of those here in CA!

Someone put a political sticker on my bumper once when I lived down South. Within one week of having it on there, I was hit from behind twice. The same cop investigated both accidents. His comment the second time, “I guess they’re voting for the other guy.” I always chuckle when I think of his dry delivery.

I actually shopped in a Penzey’s store today and got the same bumper sticker at checkout. I’ve been a Penzey’s customer for years. They won me over many moons ago when they were willing to send some poor schlep down to the post office to put a customs sticker on my box and hand mail it to my APO address in Germany. This was WAY before many companies were friendly to APO/FPO addresses.

I usually don’t want bumper stickers on the car but we just finished another two week Habitat For Humanity build and they gave us a bumper sticker that says “What Will You Build?” I decided that it would be a good one to put on. For us it is building houses for those less fortunate, for you it means donating quilts to many charities and for others, hopefully something they enjoy doing that benefits others.
Penzey’s is the best! I have shopped with them since they had only one store in Brookfield, WI. Another example of hard work and quality products that equal a success story.
