Can you believe how quickly the weeks are flying by? Every day . . every week . . just flying! Yesterday I happened to look at the sticker on my car for the oil change and the last time it was changed was December! And I’ve gone almost double the miles I should’ve gone. I never ever do that! The oil change guy is picking it up at 8:00 this morning and maybe Vince will never know how long it’s been between oil changes.
All the tomatoes for 2010 are canned. All the jalapenos are canned. I am not going to the Amish store this weekend. Really . . I’m not! Nothing to be canned and I think all my cooking for the weekend is done. Know what that means? I hope it means I’m going to be sewing. Sewing all weekend.
There’s nothing on my design wall now. Empty. Just the way it’s been for about 10 days now. Empty design walls are not very exciting, are they? I hope by the end of the weekend I will have made about 200 half square triangles and have all the borders done for my next quilt.
What are your sewing plans for the weekend?

i’m still resting my pinkie finger, so no more sewing or cutting for me until Monday. I got Fig Tree Quilts book of “Houses” in the mail yesterday, so i’ll be dreaming of house quilts this weekend.

I will be dancing at a wedding on Saturday, perhaps a little block work in the morning. Sunday looks free so after changing out of the church clothes and a nice breakfast I will head down to the quilting cave and sew. I have so many ongoing projects it will be whatever strikes my fancy at the moment. And hopefully it’s not something new.

Hi Judy,
Two things for you…
1.) Can you redirect me to the “add a button” post. I guess I am pc challenged because I have not been able to move it over.
2.) Sometime ago you mentioned making sauerkraut… while I don’t have a crock to get rid of I do have a sauerkraut recipe that is made directly in quart jars and it is wonderful. I’ll never make it in a crock again. Let me know if you are interested.

I would love to be sewing. As it is, I’ll be back in your neck of the woods all weekend. I did wave last Friday as I passed your exit.

It’s raining again here! YEAH! That means I get to hang around and sew. No pool! Also, my brother is taking the boys golfing tomorrow, so there is another couple of hours sewing!
I am working on a new project. Hopefully I will have it all cut out later today.

I’ll be quilting on Teal Tomorrow and adding borders to my Three Creative Studios block of the month. A perfect weekend.

Husband’s 50th HS Class reunion is this weekend adn we will be putting up at least one of the attendees. Also, county fair starts Monday and I have to deliver my two samplers to the judges Sunday…
Otherwise, I have a stitchery piece to do the last longstitch outlining on, a bead journal project piece for July to do, and two quilt to cut and start… MAYBE!

Congratulations on the end of canning season! Here’s to much more of sewing season 🙂 I realized yesterday that July is over today, and I have not been to the beach once yet this summer. That will have to be remedied….The end of summer was given its first warning by the printing of the school bus pickups in the paper today. All over town you can hear kids cry “OHHHH NOOOOO!”
On the sewing front, I have cut a bunch of bowtie blocks to keep working on a 50th bday quilt for my brother, and am trying to piece my way into a full backing for a queen sized quilt with leftovers. There is going to be a lot of thread in this quilt, LOL!

I have a mass of machine embroidery I want to do, including a sweet pea cushion for my mothers 96th birthday! I’m also up to my neck in family tree info from a cousin, need to get it added to my tree. Plus I have 6 yr old granddaughter coming to stay for a week on Monday and need to sort out all the craft work we will do together. Added to this I really want to make a move on my Quilts for Hero quilt, I have most of it cut out.
Plus I am showing a friend how to Blog, and keep sending her little tasks to do!
I wonder if we could eat take away all weekend!

A question. Is there a secret to preventing the bias edge of a half square triangle from stretching? I am gentle. I press, not iron. I am frustrated

I’ve read to give ’em a shot of spray starch.

My sewing machine has been in storage for a year now. Can you imagine??? My plan this weekend is to assemble the table and get myself set back up. I have a shower in two weeks that I would really like to have a quilt ready to present – we’ll see. I’m also anxious to see my kids’ house. My oldest two have moved in together. I’m hoping to get by tomorrow and see how it’s set up.

On Saturday I’m attending our company picinic. Just walking distance away is Visions Quilt Gallery (http://www.quiltvisions.org/). Guess where else I’ll be going? The Gallery has been open for awhile now, but this will be my first visit. Sunday I’ll be sewing…Kotton Kandy Kocktails my current project needs only to have the blocks assembled into rows. Hopefully I’ll have a finished top by the end of the weekend.

Spent a little time this afternoon preparing 2 blocks to hand applique. We have a borthday party tonight for our grandson who is 5 today. Daughter and grand daughter on their way home for the weekend so will enjoy them so probably not much for sewing for a few days.

I’m going to an all day sew in at my local Bernina quilt store. The dealer does this the last Saturday of the month and we sew from 9:30am until 11pm! Then I’ll be back there at noon on Sunday for a class.
I have clothes pins to prop my eyes open.

Judy the grapes look great. My parents had concord grapes that looked like those and so we always had jam and home made grape juice concentrate growing up. In my birthday bag from one of my attorneys I had four jars of jam from an Amish store – raspberry, strawberry, blackberry and peach…yum… with none of the work! 🙂 I’ve made two sample blocks for a pattern this month and that is all the sewing I’ve done – withdrawal is setting in but I hope to get started machine quilting a wedding quilt for my niece this weekend.

Keith’s out of town so I’ll be sewing … I’ve got a small top to quilt and I really, really want to finish up the last 8 blocks for the HeartStrings quilt on my design wall and get it assembled.
