Speaking of loose change, there’s not much of that around here! I had to order another cell phone today as mine seems to have disappeared yesterday and if you think I’m unhappy about that .. you’d be correct!
The real “Loose Change” I’m talking about is this:
When I made my Black Friday quilt, I didn’t count and didn’t really know how many fabrics I was going to use so I ended up with a bunch of 4-1/2″ and 2-1/2″ strips left over. I cut them into 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ rectangles and am making this coin quilt and calling it Loose Change. Here’s the EQ drawing with the borders and all.
Quick and easy . . and there’s a great spot in there for making feathers! That’s what a quilt top really is anyway — a place where I can make feathers!

Simple is definitely good…makes the quilt making go by faster so you can spend more time making feathers. 🙂

I love this kind of quilt. Made with what you have. Also I really love how the black makes all the colors pop. I tend to make a lot of quilts with black backgrounds. Wish I could do feathers.

Hey a simple quilt comes alive with feathers……loose change is a great name for the quilt. I look forward to seeing it completed.

My cell phone took a vacation to Oklahoma…with my hubby.. and won’t be back until Wednesday night. I am lost without it and fear going to the store without being in touch! LOl

Can you get an insurance policy on your cell phone? (I think this isn’t the first time you’ve had one go “missing”.) Like the “loose change” quilt.

judy, you’ve probably already thought of this, but have you tried calling your cell phone number? if it’s charged up, maybe the cell will ring loud enough so that you can hear it.
I love the setting you’ve chosen for you new quilt. reminds me of stained glass windows.

I love to make coin quilts with my left overs. It is like getting a free quilt. I like the layout of your design.

I love it! I especially like the black background – really allows the colors to stand out.
Awesome.

That’s the one nice thing about the iphone- it has a GPS and you can login to the PC and “find” your phone on the map, actually send a loud signal to the phone (even if it is in the MUTE mode) with a mesg you type in asking that the phone be returned, and if it is not returned- you can “wipe it clean” of all of your important information so no one can get at it. the iphone also backs itself up to your computer and itunes each time you plug in so you don’t lose your info… it’s on your PC. I LOVE MINE!
That is a great quilt- nice use of the leftovers.

It’s going to look awesome!

Those extra “bonus” quilts are fun! Because I like the scrappy look, when I cut out one quilt, it is just as easy to cut out 2-3 while I have all the fabrics out – but I always know ahead of time what I am cutting. You did a great job looking at those extra pieces and THEN coming up with a pattern for them! Cheers! Evelyn

I agree that any quilt I can do feathers on is a fun quilt to quilt. I like this one very much but I like most of your quilts.

Cute! I love Chinese Coins quilts — I still have some coins left from a HeartStrings project that I need to use up and saw an antique in one of my quilting books today while I was traveling that I think will be my next version.
