The day to start is finally here! 🙂 The name I’m going to use for this quilt is Freeze Frame. If you haven’t done a Quilt for an Hour with me before, please read this blog post and this blog post. I will try to answer questions as they arise but I’m gone more than I’m home for the duration of this project.
Here we go . . have fun!
Hour #1:
Light Background Fabric:
12 – 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ strips
12 – 2-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ strips
Scrap Fabric:
Cut 6 different colored 4-1/2″ squares.
Make 6 different sets of: (for each set, these four pieces should be the same color — you’ll have 6 different sets — 6 different colors):
2 – 2-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ strips
2- 2-1/2″ x 12-1/2″ strips
Step 1: Sew a 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ light background strip to two opposite sides of a colored 4-1/2″ square. Press seam allowances towards light background fabric.
Step 2: Sew a 2-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ strip to the remaining sides of the colored square. Press seam allowances towards the light background fabric.
Step 3: Sew a 2-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ colored strip to two opposite sides of the Step 2 unit. Press seam allowances towards colored fabric.
Step 4: Sew a 2-1/2″ x 12-1/2″ colored strip to the two remaining sides. Press seam allowances towards colored fabric.
Make 6 blocks.

Since I leave to be with my daughter tomorrow for her Wed. surgery, I am going to do “catch up” with this on the weekend. For some reason, I thought we were starting next week…but that’s okay. I will just be a bit behind…but…I’ll get there…eventually. LOL

Ahhh…I see my mistake…the date Oct. 6 was sticking in my mind….and I looked back and see that is the completion date and NOT the starting date….DUH…dopey me!!!

I have never did this before! So how do I get started an is it very hard Iam a Beginer! Just learning! So I might need help! But it looks like a lot of fun!!
