Our Anniversary – Almost

Tomorrow is our anniversary and since I have a commitment for tomorrow, Vince took off work this afternoon and we went to Joplin.

We ate sushi and then we ate some more sushi and then shopped . . but not so much that I reached my frustration level.  It was a gorgeous, almost fall-like day and we enjoyed ourselves but our purchases certainly weren’t exciting.  We went to Office Depot and bought a box of paper.  We went to Target and bought laundry detergent, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.  We went to Lowe’s and bought a rake and little hoe looking thing to clean out the chicken coop.  We went to Sam’s and bought a 50 pound bag of rice, a 10 pound bag of pinto beans, Claritin and peanut butter.  We went to Wal-Mart and bought Baker’s Joy, parchment paper and a battery for the flashlight we use for taking Speck out at night.  We went to Books-A-Million and Vince bought 2 magazines.  We went to Academy and bought nothing.

I guess that’s about as exciting as it gets for us old folks! 🙂

  3. happy anniversary! we’ve been married for 41 (yikes) years, and that sounds like something we’d do. hubby recently had a bit of a health scare that made us realize all this day to day stuff is really important. i complain, but i don’t want to think about the alternative. kiss vince and tell him how important he is.

  4. Happy Anniversary!!!!! Spending the day together is what you are supposed to do…….even if it was shopping for routine stuff…….no disagreements on your anniversary…..sounds like the perfect day.

  6. That seems the perfect way to spend an anniversary…….

    I am still not clear about the 50 pounds of rice and 10 pounds of pinto beans………. Just how long does this last?

    Hmmmm.. Wouldn’t I just love a bowl of redbeans and rice with a dish of piccalli on the side?

    What time is dinner?

    • Come on over-but it will just be pinto beans and cornbread and you will have your pick of piccally or chow chow-homemade. Hugs, Bobbie

  13. Happy Anniversary!!!! The most important thing is that you spent the time together just doing everyday things. I’ve found that it doesn’t have to be fireworks, just a steady flame.

  15. Happy Anniversary! We consider going to the dump a “date” then we go out for breakfast or lunch, and spend the day together (a rare occasion-thank god for vacations!) Nice to know we arent alone!

  16. Happy Anniversary to Judy and Vince. Isn’t it great when a trip to Lowes and Sams is a big shopping trip out! Celebrating a good marriage without all the fluff! It is the best!

    I hope you all are aware o f how much you two are appreciated by so many people. You dont even know! LOL

    Have th ehapiest anniversary celebration even if it sharing a cuppa coffee and a big old muffin with melted butter, with your arms linked around.

  20. Happy Anniversary, Judy and Vince! I had a glass of wiine to celebrate for you! Of course, didn’t know it was anyone’s anniversary at the time, but I’m glad it was that it was yours!
