This will never be a show quilt, though the quilting will take all the effort of a show quilt. There are so many places where the points don’t match. I really don’t know what I had in mind when I made this top. It’s hard for me to believe that I was ok with leaving the points the way they are on some of these blocks. Could be that I went back and tried to fix them and gave up. I don’t have a clue. So, it’s merely a practice piece and I’ve probably made it harder, if not impossible, to make it look right by choosing to do my circles in the outer border that isn’t a definite width — the width varies.
I made all the registration marks and marked feather designs on the ecru portion that is inside the pink border. I should probably not mention Ronda’s name in the rest of my posts because I don’t want my quilting to reflect badly on her but she has been a tremendous help with wrapping my brain around how she does those fantastic circles. Check out her blog for new pictures.
There’s a little voice in my head saying . . go back and fix those points but there’s another voice saying . . those circles aren’t going to work so don’t waste time worrying about the points. Hmmm . . which voice will win?
First, I have to get to the car wash and get these Kansas City bugs off my windshield. Tomorrow the Honda goes to the shop in Joplin for a new air conditioner and I will be so happy to have cold air again!

That is going to be so beautiful. It looks SO hard!!! You’ll breeze through it, though, and it’ll be gorgeous!

The quilt is really pretty and I love the stars – sure don’t see any points that are a problem. You are way too hard on yourself!

Judy did you use the pattern out of Sherry’s Feather 101 book? This quilt will be gorgeous. Also, do you use the Marvy Marker pens?

I don’t see any bad points either. Remember, if you can’t see it from a gallopping horse, it will be ok.

Judy, The quilt is beautiful! If you don’t like it when you are done I know a someone who would LOVE it! ME! I promise not to notice your points or point them out to anyone! LOL You are stressing way to much. Just relax and enjoy the process while you learn a new technique. You can do it!

What unpointy points? I can’t see any. I love the feathers you’ve marked and look forward to seeing this quilted.

What problem point? There should be an 18″ rule… If you can’t see it from 18″ away it doesn’t matter!
And where did you get that great stencil?
Ronda K Beyer says
Judy, use those Judilators for some curved crosshatching inside the feather motifs, I love this quilt and cannot wait to see it quilted…. Have a wonderful Thursday… Ehugs
