Didn’t get a lot of sewing done while my parents were here but Sunday and Monday before they arrived and Saturday after they left, I sewed almost non-stop. Here’s what I used:
A top with all those nine patches – 9-1/4 yards
Backing for a quilt I quilted for mom – 4 yards
Pillowcase for Chad. Mom supplied the camo fabric but I added an ecru fabric – 1/4 yard
Fabric added this week – 0 yards
Fabric added year to date – 471-1/2 yards
Fabric used this week – 13-1/2 yards
Fabric used year to date – 400 yards
Net Used to Date – <71-1/2> yards
So, how did you do this week? Share your progress with us please. We need all the encouragement (or laughs) we can get, you know?
Don’t forget you can join us for our 2009 efforts if you’d like. Check it out here. I’m real happy to see at least 20 have signed up so far. That means we’ll have at least 20 Sunday Stash Reports every Sunday in 2009, right? Oh . . no pressure or anything like that! 🙂 Really, you can sign up and put as much or as little effort into this as you like. It’s all meant for fun.

You used that much fabric this week – and had company – and cooked for Thanksgiving? You’re amazing! I’m with you in 2009, for better or worse. But we both will be better, won’t we? LOL

Burrrrrr! Bless your heart. Things always seem to happen around Friday 8PM thru the weekend….LOL…..what can you do but laugh or throw things. Hope you are staying warm.

how do you keep track of what you’ve used??? Especially if it’s scraps??? I am joining you for 2009 – I have to!! Yesterday, I didn’t sew, but I did go through my magazine collection and do some weeding and some marking…. the weeded ones are going to my guild meeting for anyone who wants them and the marking is for projects that I liked in that book/magazine. I am decluttering the ‘studio’ to make room for all the projects I am going to be finishing/starting….. So, this is my stash busing report for this week – even though I am not an offical member till 2009. And then I will learn how to keep track of my fabric use!!

Judy, I must admit I’m a little bit envious of your stash and the stashes of all your readers. Since I’m new to quilting, I have no stash. 🙁 Maybe I should start a stash-“building” report. LOL! Or at the very least, I should start keeping track of what I do buy from here on out.
Try to stay warm today! You could come to Vegas… it’s upper 60s, lower 40s all week, no rain, no snow, no wind. Or maybe we could trade places for a week. I love the cold weather. 🙂

I am joining in for 2009. I am looking forward to a creative year. I figure I’ll probably get in a few more projects than the past year just because I am Quilt Chapter President!
Lori in SD says
Okay, can I switch to Tamara’s idea and stashbuild? No, maybe I better not. I got out my envelope and refigured for the year, I have USED 73.35 yards more than I bought. I will have to really work to break 100 yards by the end of the year. Sigh Yes, I KNOW I am in for 2009!

I’m so glad that you will continue the weekly reports, and that 20 people have signed up so far. I don’t blog, but I stalk this blog every Sunday, reading each and every report, and then everything else each blogger has posted since her last report. You all inspire me to use my stash, and sometimes you give me a good laugh. My personal goal is that at least half of the fabric in every quilt must come from stash. Which means that if I want to buy a new backing, the entire front must be from stash. That being said, it doesn’t stop me from buying new fabrics that speak to me, but I buy much less than I used to.

Of course I’m in for 2009 and it will be interesting to see if I can top this year. Not to worry, I will still have plenty of stash, I think!

I’m wondering how you calculate your used yardage also. Did I miss a blog?
