It’s Sunday . . just barely – 12:04 a.m. and I’m quitting for the night.
Vince did get his Apple Cake with Caramel Glaze.
And, it’s very good!
And, I got some sewing done.
I figured this is kinda like eating dessert first! You know how people always suggest eating your dessert first so you don’t have to worry about saving room for it? Not that I ever have that problem because I always have room for dessert but the last time I was working on a quilt that had a pieced border and a bunch of non-pieced borders, I got so bored that I decided I’m making the border first next time. So . . the border blocks are made for the next project.
Tomorrow I should be able to get started working on the blocks. Won’t it be nice to get to the border and say “Oh, I already have those blocks all done!”
I’m debating about whether to do a stash report .. and if I do it, I’m debating about whether I’ll be 100% honest! Does that give you an idea of how I did with stash enhancing busting this week? Did we decide in the beginning that everyone gets one free week . . where nothing counts? If so, I’m taking it this week. If not, I’m going to be dishonest. If I have to be honest, I’m not making a stash report! I’d better go to bed and think about this just a little more.

That looks delicious! Wish I had a piece with my coffee right now! And the blocks are wonderful! Great idea about doing the borders first. That’s where I always lose interest. Will try that on the next one!
I didn’t remember the “one free week” stash busting rule! Heck, it’s your obligation to follow the rules!

I love your idea of preparing the borders first. And that apple cake looks delicious. Lucky family to have you for a cook.

Funny how different we are – the only way I am up before the sun is if I’ve stayed up all night – sunsets are my thing although I tell you I’ve been up all night a lot recently.
Last night as we walked to a dinner Keith had for all the people reporting to him, I was so thankful that we live in this city. We walked along the river and it was beautiful – breezy and cool with lots of fall color and it was wonderful being able to drink that wonderful wine we had before and during dinner without worrying about having to drive home.

I think sometimes I am going to bed about the time you are rising. 🙂 I love the night and couldn’t quilt early in the morning if I had to! But that’s one of the pleasures of blogging – one can read or blog any time of day or night so it really fits one’s own schedule! I’m hosting a retreat this weekend and I love doing it but the hardest part is having to get up early in the morning. Since I no longer “work outside the home” (who invented that phrase anyway?) I can finally do my work in the hours that are the best for me. Since I only recently found your blog, I am wondering – do you blog everyday? It seems that you do and I really like that. It is a real committment to your readers. Thanks!

Have days of catching up to do as our daughter got married last Saturday… wedding was wonderful and they are off to their honeymoon! I missed you and couldn’t participate in the quiltathon but was thinking about you!
