Man, am I tired! I was longarming and stopped to wind a bobbin. I said to myself that if was after 10 p.m., I was stopping. It was 8:30!
My goals always seem to be just a bit impossible. I truly thought I could quilt three quilts today and put the binding on one. You’d think after 10 years of longarming, I could better judge how long it takes me to do things. I had a customer’s quilt loaded and she wanted Baptist Fans. I planned to be finished with that by noon but I wasn’t finished til almost 3 p.m. Then I loaded a top that Vicky sent me that’s going to the children’s home in Houma. Did the Baptist Fans on it.
I’ll get a better picture of it after it’s bound but isn’t it cute! I know the fans are upside down but that’s the way it had to be because of the way the backing was pieced. I briefly thought about doing free motion feathers on it but then changed my mind and wasn’t going to re-load it. The kids won’t know, nor will they care.
The backing was more fabric from Vicky. It’s such a great fabric. I almost talked myself out of using it for a backing but it’s such a perfect match. I’m going to bind it with the same fabric.
Isn’t this going to make some child very happy? I’ll take Vicky’s rejects any day! 🙂
I’m pleased with what I got done this weekend. Hope you are too!
I’ll be in bed before 10 p.m. tonight and that never happens!

Wow, what a great reject. Excellent quilting on at, as well. I need some of your energy! Take care.

What a cute quilt! I’m impressed that you got two quilts done – I usually only manage one in a day before I have to work on something else.

That quilt is really cute!! Is it from a pattern or just something she came up with. I am continually surprised at what some quilters can do. 🙂

Your link is not to the right spot I don’t think. And I love that backing. Wonder where Ms Vicky found it. Great children’s quilt!!

Do you know where I could get a copy of that pattern with the houses and pseudo Irish Chain?
I’d really appreciate it.

Love the bright colors of Vicky’s quilt… and the backing is way too cool. It would be nice if we could get the pattern. Congrats to Vicky on a really nice quilt!

That looks great, Judy! I’m delighted that you could get it quilted and off to the orphanage in Houma. Fabulous quilting! xox
