This quilt has been spread over a rocking chair in the bedroom for several weeks. I’m trying to come up with a quilting plan. Can you put too many feathers on a quilt? Feathers in the setting triangles, feathers in the ribbon border, feathers in the other borders?? Maybe that would be too many feathers. All I want to do is feathers . . feathers . . feathers.
I’m not doing trapunto . . I don’t think. I think I’ll use the Mountain Mist Gold batting which is 50/50 or maybe I’ll use Hobbs wool. I have plenty of both on hand.
I’m ready for a definite plan so I can get started. I’d love to get this quilted and finished and be able to enter it at Paducah. The quilting will make or break it. Oh . . the pressure!
Lest you feel sorry for me, I really don’t feel any pressure. It’s a quilt . . just a quilt. If it turns out pretty, I enter it in the shows. If it doesn’t it goes on my bed. Simple as that! Mom has already decided it would be perfect in her house so . . I’m sure it will find a home somewhere . . no matter how it turns out.

Judy, maybe a feathered wreath in the setting triangles would give you the feathers while breaking up the “overload” you seem to be worried about.
Hope you have figured out the comment problem.

Ok, off topic, but I had to tell you a lady was in the shop today, wandered around quite a bit, spent a good bit of time perusing the books. I was in the back for something and when I came back up front, guess what book she had in her hand and was looking for fabric for a quilt in…….just guess, guess. LOL “Nine Patch Extravangza”. Of course I had to tell her you were my frined (right?) and helped her pick out fabric. The highlight of my day!

It would look great here at my house too. I like your attitude but I know you’ll do a beautiful job on the quilting.

I like feathers!! I don’t think you can have too many feathers. And, off topic – Judy and I won a blue ribbon at the Maryland State Fair today!!!
