Is there any interest out there in doing this quilt as a Block of the Month? Actually, it would be 2 blocks per month. The quilt, as shown is about 92″ x 92″, with 13 blocks. Extra weeks will be spent with pieced sashing, pieced ribbon border, and setting on point.
Some things you might want to consider before making a decision:
- All blocks will be free!
- While I wouldn’t consider these to be terribly simple blocks, they all went together very quickly and I was quite surprised at how easy they were.
- There are lots of cuts that are on the “16th of an inch” mark. It isn’t hard! The little hash marks on most rulers are in 1/8th increments. Each 8th = 2/16ths. So, if I needed something on the 3/16″ mark, I just positioned my ruler between the 1/8th and 1/4″ line. Look at your rulers and think about it. When trying to wrap my mind around it, I kept making it harder than it was. In order to get the blocks to come out right, those are the sizes the cuts have to be made. Can’t round it up or down to a quarter or even an 8th of an inch.
- My hope is that you can use your stash. I bought a background fabric because the local shop had a perfect light, light greenish/yellow that went great with all the rest of my fabrics.
If there seems to be enough interest, I’ll post more details in the next week or so, along with a picture of the completed top . . I hope! 🙂
I’ll be away from the computer til Saturday night or Sunday morning. Use lots of stash while I’m away!
